NDP Returns to the National Stadium with a Fresh, Inclusive and Immersive Celebration
On 9 August 2026, Singaporeans can look forward to a fresh National Day Parade (NDP) experience as we celebrate 61 years of independence with a return to the iconic National Stadium at The Kallang for the first time in ten years.
This year’s theme, “Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond!”, celebrates 61 years of nation-building and inspires Singaporeans to go further, do more, and be better together. Chairman of the NDP 2026 Executive Committee Brigadier-General (BG) Lim Han Yong said, “SG61 marks the start of the new decade for Singapore and we challenge ourselves to find new, fresh, bold ideas to start this decade… The return of NDP to the National Stadium is especially special for us because the last National Day was 10 years ago at the current National Stadium, and the first NDP at the old Stadium was 50 years ago. The venue gives us a new opportunity and a rare one, to redesign the NDP experience to bring a more immersive and inclusive one for Singapore this year. We will be able to bring more Singaporeans to celebrate together – about 42,000 Singaporeans (will be) coming into the National Stadium… Wherever you are this year, locally or overseas, we invite all Singaporeans to come together and celebrate our nation’s birthday and go beyond as one united Singapore.”
The Parade and Ceremony segment will feature the largest civilian participation in over a decade, with an expanded, more diverse and inclusive range of participants, including new contingents. In a first, the Presidential Gun Salute will be fired at the Kallang Basin, bringing this iconic tradition closer to the public. Other traditional crowd favourites such as the State Flag Flypast and Feu-De-Joie will also continue to be featured in the segment.
The Show segment will unfold across five chapters inspired by the call to action, “Go Beyond”. Audiences can look forward to an enthralling music extravaganza with an indoor drone light show and NDP’s largest special effects presentation. Stories will be told in a novel and inclusive manner, celebrating Singapore’s strength and diversity.
In the lead-up to National Day, the public can expect two new efforts to excite Singaporeans ahead of the main event.
a. The first ever NDP microdrama “Heartbeats” will be launched with six short episodes telling a uniquely Singaporean story through the eyes of everyday characters and
shared spaces. With humorous and heartfelt interactions, the rich and immersive storytelling will bring moments of community spirit to life, and through them celebrate
how we go beyond for each other, what it means to belong, and find one’s voice b. The Go Beyond: NDP 2026 album will be released with three original songs, presenting a wider range of musical styles, that each Singaporean can a resonate with.
Together, these initiatives reflect our commitment to reaching Singaporeans in fresh and creative ways, whether through music that resonates across generations or short-form content that fits seamlessly into everyday digital consumption. Both the microdrama and the album are designed to build anticipation and deepen the sense of connection and pride as National Day draws closer.
NDP 2026 Celebrations@The Kallang can accommodate up to 200,000 members of the public to experience NDP festivities in the Kallang precinct. From 25 July to 9 August 2026, the public can look forward to music performances, take photos with the “Go Beyond” lighted display along the Stadium Riverside Walk, and participate in interactive activities highlighting Singapore’s multiculturalism and 60 years of our National Pledge. Familiar National Day songs, alongside songs from this year’s NDP music album, will also be curated to create a lively and welcoming atmosphere, accompanying spectators from their arrival to their journey home, enhancing the overall celebratory experience.
NDP 2026 continues to build on previous NDP community outreach efforts with our partners to promote volunteerism and inclusivity among Singaporeans through the #GiveAsOneSG campaign. These efforts encourage Singaporeans to take action to care for fellow Singaporeans and strengthen our sense of community and belonging to Singapore. More information on the campaign activities will be shared on Facebook (www.facebook.com/NDPeeps), Instagram (NDPeeps) and TikTok (NDPeeps) in the coming
weeks. Singaporeans are encouraged to participate in these activities in the weeks leading up to National Day.
