This year, due to Covid situation and measures that have been implemented, the scale of Mid-Autumn Festival in Chinatown has been greatly reduced. The Chinatown Festival Organizing Committee hopes to continue the tradition and celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival in Chinatown through dazzling streets light and to bring festive cheers to everyone.

5. Wan Qing Mid-Autumn Festival 2021

Wan Qing mid autumn festival 2021

As part of its annual Wan Qing Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall will be presenting a special outdoor lantern installation created in collaboration with Thailand artist Boonyavee Boonsakda (Ngaew Ngaew)!

Titled Those Moonlit Moments…, the outdoor installation features four large lantern replicas, including the artist’s characters enjoying mooncakes and each other’s company under the gentle and watchful eye of Ngaew’s Moon Rabbit.

6. Rainforest Lumina Final Season

Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall (SYSNMH) will be presenting its latest special exhibition, Modern Women of the Republic: Fashion and Change in China and Singapore, which uses fashion as a barometer of societal change to shed light on the changes in women’s status, roles and lifestyles since the late 19th century. The exhibition will display close to 100 artefacts and photographs, focusing on Chinese women’s clothing and accessories from China and Singapore that span almost a hundred years.

Race Against Cancer 2021

RAC 2021 will take place from 18 to 26 September as a virtual islandwide event. Marking the highlight of this year’s RAC is a physical run where top fundraisers will be invited down to the Singapore Sports Hub for a scenic 10KM run, starting from the OCBC Square.
