Things to Do On Singapore’s National Day Long Weekend 8 to 11 August 2024

1. RSAF Island Flypast Routes on 9 August 2024!

Prior to the National Day Parade (NDP) at the Padang on 9 August, the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) will reach out to Singaporeans in the heartlands through the “Fly Our Flag” flypast and the “Island Flypast”.

Fly Our Flag:

Into its fifth year, the “Fly Our Flag” segment has become an NDP favourite. Two CH-47SD/F Heavy Lift Helicopters, each escorted by two AH-64D Apache Attack Helicopters, will carry the State Flag into the heartlands around Singapore. From 5.45pm to 6.30pm, they will be flying our State Flag via two routes to bring the NDP festivities to Singaporeans in the heartlands. The Western Route will comprise locations such as Woodlands, Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Batok, Jurong and West Coast. The Eastern Route will comprise locations such as Seletar, Sengkang, Punggol, Pasir Ris, Bedok and East Coast.

RSAF Island Flypast

Six F-16s will conduct a flypast through the heartlands of Singapore. From around 6pm to 6.30pm, the flypast will greet Singaporeans at various locations around the island, such as Clementi, Jurong West, Choa Chu Kang, Bukit Batok, Woodlands, Toa Payoh, Seletar, Punggol and Bendemeer.

2. The Little Adventurer Family Day

Join us for the Little Adventurer Family Day, designed for children aged 12 months to 12 years! Highlights include the Little Fossil Finder, where kids uncover dinosaurs, and the Little Environmentalist station, where children interact with live beetles. Enjoy culinary fun at the Little Pastry Chef station and dance fitness at the Little Dancer event. Discover students’ published books at the Little Novelist station and create snow globes at the Little Crafter station. Experts will share tips on preventing myopia and managing children’s mental well-being. Experience a day of discovery, creativity, and unforgettable family moments!

3. NDP @ Heartlands

Five Heartland Celebration sites will bring Singaporeans together to mark the nation’s 59th birthday. The celebrations will feature community group performances, static displays of SAF, SCDF, and SPF vehicles, fireworks displays, and various carnival and family activities.
