In celebration of Singapore’s 55th Birthday, ACM will be offering a myriad of online programmes – accessible anywhere you are!

Rediscover our rich cross-cultural art and heritage through ACM’s masterpieces, and traverse the fascinating themes of Trade, Faith and Belief, and Materials and Design with self-guided tours, as well as instructions for DIY crafts at home, conversations, and interactive stories.

Online-accessible highlights include National Day classics with the Lorong Boys, live pre-registered portrait illustration, a National Day-themed self-guided trail, educational online activities, including puzzles, quizzes, and an upcycling craft activity. We also have created a virtual twin of the museum’s newest permanent galleries – Fashion & Textiles, Jewellery, and Ceramics, where users can explore the galleries digitally via mobile, desktop, or even on their own VR headsets.

On National Day, visitors to ACM will enjoy a discount on an updated edition of our latest collection overview book, ACM Treasures: Collection Highlights. Coincidentally printed with a new red cover (perfect for NDP 2020!), ACM is offering the book at a special price of $15 (usual price at $25) at ACM’s Museum Label shop on this joyous occasion. The book follows the structure of our museum’s permanent galleries, with sections dedicated to Trade, Faith and Belief, and Materials and Design. Within each section, chapters present highlight objects for each gallery. With nearly 200 objects in full colour, each with a short explanation, this book is a perfect gift and handy guide to the museum.

Elevate your social game with fun Augmented Reality (AR) experiences and new offerings on ACM’s Instagram, where you can learn about Singapore’s connections with Asia and the world through objects in our collection.

Create your own badge with materials easily found in your home, or go on a virtual self-guided trail of ACM’s galleries! Try out easy recipes of well-loved dishes, and don’t miss the chance to have your portrait drawn by an illustrator*.

*Registration on Peatix is required. Limited slots available on a first-come, first-served basis. The activity takes place only on 8 August.

View a selection of treasures from each of ACM’s permanent galleries in detailed Augmented Reality (AR). These include a rare gold cup from the Tang Shipwreck Collection, an incense burner made with objects from different cultures, and an exquisite bridal crown from Southeast Asia. Anyone, anywhere can now view the best of Asian art and craftsmanship up-close!
