A Sing-Along Event in Celebration of Singapore’s 57th Birthday

Voices of Singapore and Capitol Singapore proudly co-present the first-ever live SingNation!, a National Day sing-along that celebrates the diversity of Singaporean music. Held online in 2020 and 2021, this year’s edition will mark the first physical SingNation! which aims to bring together communities and people from all walks of life to sing together for Singapore.

SingNation! 2022 will be held on 6 August 2022 at Capitol Singapore in celebration of Singapore’s 57th birthday, alongside other National Day festivities at Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES between 1-12 August 2022. SingNation! is supported by VOS corporate patron Perennial Holdings Private Limited.

Aimed at having participants experience the joy and exuberance of community singing as part of Voices of Singapore’s vision to Inspire a Singing Singapore, this year’s SingNation! will consist of several elements:

1. SingNation! Sing-along Sessions

6 Aug 2022, 6pm – 7pm & 8pm – 9pm
Capitol Singapore, Outdoor Plaza

The highlight of SingNation!. Two sing-along sessions will be presented at Capitol Singapore’s Outdoor Plaza, hosted by VOS Artistic Director Darius Lim, Joyce Ang, and local band The Passerby. The hour-long sessions will feature several familiar tunes and Singaporean songs, such as past and present NDP theme songs and local folk songs. The audience is invited to sing-along with lyrics available onsite, as we collectively sing for Singapore. First 150 audience members per session will receive one complimentary mini flag each. First come first served, while stocks last.

SingNation! 2022 is open to the public and is free of charge with no pre-registration or tickets required.

2. Fringe Activity – The Passerby Performs!

Local band The Passerby will take to a brand new stage in the Arcade @ The Capitol Kempinski as they perform crowd favourites and popular tunes, against the backdrop of the historic Capitol Theatre. Catch them again on 9 August 2022, 6pm to 6.45pm and 7:15pm to 8pm, at Capitol Singapore’s Outdoor Plaza as the celebration continues.

3. Made-in-Singapore Bazaar by Eat Drink Play

6 Aug 2022, 12pm – 9pm
Capitol Singapore, Outdoor Plaza

Eat Drink Play will present an outdoor bazaar with booths selling a medley of beautifully designed and hand-crafted products that are made in Singapore, for Singapore.

4. National Day Parade ‘LIVE’ Screening

9 Aug 2022, 5:45pm Onwards
Capitol Singapore’s Outdoor Plaza, Arcade @ The Capitol Kempinski and CHIJMES, B1

Come as one with friends and strangers alike to celebrate our nation’s birthday at Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES. Immerse fully in the celebratory NDP atmosphere as the aerial flypast roars above while you watch the spectacular performances on-screen.

5. Icons of Singapore Display

1-12 Aug 2022, All Day
CHIJMES, The Lawn

Revisit the good ol’ days with these life-sized displays of Singapore icons. Strike a pose, take a photo and do it for the Singapore ‘gram.

6. Your Happy Place F&B Promotions
