The March school holidays are swiftly approaching, and many anxious young parents are probably wringing their hands, wondering “What are we going to do with the kids?” Maybe you’re one of them. Kudos to you for taking time off from your busy careers to spend time with your kids.
To help you plan your week, here are 4 free family activities you can consider bringing your family to during the week-long break. Enjoy!
1. Sentosa KidZ Flea
Calling all bargain hunters and flea market lovers! Enter a market place where kids have the final say in everything! Support the *Play-trepreneurs aged between 7 and 12 years old at the Sentosa KidZ Flea this March Holidays. Returning for the third year, Sentosa KidZ Flea provides a marketplace for Play-trepreneurs to sell toys and books, handmade accessories or provide customised services like manicure and face painting.

2. A Changed World: Singapore Art 1950s – 1970s
A Changed World explores the development of Singapore art after World War II, showcasing how local artists expressed, through their art, their thoughts, opinions and feelings on the rapid socio-economic and political changes our country went through over the years. Children will gain a better understanding of Singapore’s history, brought to life in a fun and engaging way through stories. Parents are more than welcome to accompany their children on this exciting adventure of discovering how to interpret art in the context of history.

3. Words Go Round (WGR)
Words Go Round (WGR) is a Singapore Writers Festival initiative, under the National Arts Council Arts Education Programme. It was launched in 2011 to encourage a love for reading and appreciation for good literature among the younger generation.
Between 6-15 March 2014, older students can sign up for talks and workshops by Singaporean and overseas writers, to experience the joys of reading and writing. Meanwhile, younger kids can attend the storytelling sessions conducted in both English and Mandarin. If you register now, there’s still time to catch the sessions held this weekend!

4. Screensavers’ Day Out!
Want to cut down on TV-time for the kids, but not sure what else you can do to keep them occupied? Learn more about how to create healthy digital habits for your family while spending some time outdoors. Join Screensavers for a day of fun and learning with your child!
