If you’re looking for a fresh, meaningful way to spend time with the kids in the city, we’ve got just the spot. The Temasek Shophouse (TSH) at Orchard Road has just unveiled its brand-new outdoor community space, and it is designed with families and nature in mind.

Opening to the public on 14 March 2026, this transformed social impact hub is more than just a pretty space – it’s a living classroom. As part of a major, multi-year makeover, TSH has integrated a host of family-friendly features that align perfectly with Singapore’s vision of becoming a “City in Nature.”
So, what can you and your little ones look forward to?
A Slice of Nature in the City

Forget the usual mall scenery. The refreshed courtyards are now lush, green social spaces where kids can get up close with nature. The team has prioritized fully native plants to support local biodiversity, meaning you might spot some pollinators at work. There is even a community farm run in partnership with Fullerton Fund Management, offering a rare chance for children in the city to see where our food comes from.
Learn Through Play

This space is built for curious minds. The outdoor area is designed to be a platform for environmental learning. Families can look forward to regular Farmers’ Markets, community farm tours, and workshops that teach sustainable living. Soon, you can even join a farm-to-table experience where chefs use produce grown right on the premises!
Sustainability They Can See

One of the coolest lessons for older kids is seeing how a 100-year-old heritage building can be eco-friendly. The shophouse is on track to be Singapore’s first heritage building to achieve the prestigious BCA Green Mark Platinum Zero Energy certification. From solar panels and rainwater harvesting to clever hybrid cooling systems, the building itself is a giant science experiment showing how we can save energy while preserving history.

“We are thrilled to open our doors wider to the community,” said Ms. Yvonne Tay, CEO of Temasek Shophouse. “We hope this enhanced space allows families to engage with social and environmental causes in a hands-on way, right in the heart of the city.”

Whether you’re a nature lover, a heritage buff, or just a parent looking for a unique spot to explore with the kids, the new Temasek Shophouse offers a refreshing blend of history, play, and green living.
