At Singapore Oceanarium, the Festival of Thrills takes on a glowing new dimension with Into the Glowcean, a neon-inspired experience running from 5 September to 1 November 2026. The experience transforms the oceanarium into a luminous underwater world where guests are invited to explore marine life through light, colour and art, from day into dusk.

Singapore Oceanarium Into the GlowceanEmbark on a mesmerising adventure like no other by experiencing the ocean in a whole new light at Singapore Oceanarium’s Into the Glowcean luminous underwater journey.

A glowing new way to experience the oceanarium

Into the Glowcean presents a different side of Singapore Oceanarium, transforming it into a vibrant, multi-sensory environment that blends art, play and after-dark experiences. At its core, the experience continues to invite guests to come closer to marine life, offering new and accessible ways for visitors of all backgrounds to connect with the ocean. Through these encounters, Singapore Oceanarium hopes to inspire a deeper appreciation for marine animals and encourage the next generation of ocean stewards to care for the world beneath the waves.

A glowing ocean brought to life by Singapore’s only traditional glass neon artist

At the heart of this experience is Oceanic Glow, a series of immersive installations by Singapore-based glass neon artist Megan Foo (@maegzter). Recognised as Singapore’s only artist who designs with traditional handcrafted glass neon, Megan is a keeper of a heritage craft that once lit up the city everywhere.

Oceanic Glow also marks her first solo art exhibition, where she brings together a cohesive body of work inspired by marine life within Singapore Oceanarium. Drawing on the idea of light as a form of communication, her art reinterprets how marine animals use light beneath the surface to signal desire, create camouflage, display warning or declare presence. Her installations create a glowing underwater world that unfolds across select zones in the oceanarium; each representing a different expression of language, such as curiosity, confrontation or reverence. Through this unique journey of art and light, guests will have a deeper appreciation of marine animals and ecosystems.

Hands-on experiences for curious explorers

Complementing the visual experience is a line-up of hands-on activities designed to engage families and younger guests through creativity and play. Guests create their own neon light artwork, or take part in a workshop by social enterprise, Wild Space, to design personalised deep-sea animal keychains which they can bring home as keepsakes. Interactive light painting experiences invite guests to experiment with motion and light to create glowing visuals, while face painting stations feature marine-inspired designs with neon accents for added flair. Adding a playful festive touch, a trick-or-treat experience for kids will offer sweet surprises along the journey.

Seasonal encounters and glowing moments across the oceanarium

Across the oceanarium, themed encounters bring the Halloween atmosphere to life in ways that are distinctively Singapore Oceanarium. Guests can witness a special dive feeding session in the Open Ocean habitat featuring skeleton-costumed divers moving through the water, creating a striking visual against the backdrop of marine life. Halloween-themed marine mascots will make appearances throughout the day, adding light-hearted interaction moments for families and younger visitors.

The Glowcean experience is further brought to life through scenic decorations enhanced with glowing elements, alongside themed food and beverage offerings inspired by bioluminescent ocean life. Guests can look forward to vibrantly coloured desserts, playful snacks and specialty drinks with neon-inspired hues that mirror the glowing underwater environment.

Across selected weekends in October 2026, guests can experience live light painting performances, where artists create glowing visuals in real time using light and motion, inspired by the forms and movement of marine life. These performances will take place at the Open Ocean habitat, offering a visually engaging encounter set against the ocean’s backdrop.

Complementing this is a series of illuminated violin performances and dances, which blend music, movement and light in a way that enhances the atmosphere of the glowing ocean environment.

In celebration of World Manta Day (17 September 2026), Singapore Oceanarium will also present a special edition of its Animal Spotlight: Manta Rays. Through these 45-minute English-guided sessions, guests can gain a closer look at these animals, learn how aquarists care for them, as well as better understand their ecological importance and the conservation challenges they face. Designed as an intimate and educational experience, the programme teaches visitors lesser-known facts about Manta Rays while deepening their affinity for marine life and ecology.

It is available daily from 5 September to 1 November 2026, as an add-on experience to Singapore Oceanarium’s one-day ticket and is priced at S$28 per person (ages four and above). You can get the tickets via Klook, Fever and Pelago.

Timed alongside World Manta Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival (25 September 2026), Singapore Oceanarium will also introduce a special complementary manta ray lantern-making workshop, offering a creative extension to the programme. Held on 13 and 20 September 2026, this hands-on experience invites guests to design and decorate their own manta ray lanterns inspired by marine life, blending the traditions of the Mid-Autumn Festival with the glowing ocean theme.
