Get ready to be dazzled as the world’s largest light, sound, and multimedia event of its kind, makes its international premiere in Singapore from 13 September 2024. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Bayfront Event Ground, illumi is a nocturnal event that will transform the iconic Singapore skyline into a breathtaking display of larger-than-life structures and innovative light installations, featuring 20 million LED lights – sure to captivate visitors of all ages.

illumi was created by the team behind the acclaimed production Cavalia, which mesmerised Singapore audiences with its majestic horses, acrobats and special effects at the Bayfront Event Ground under the White Big Top in 2014. Presented by Asia Pacific’s leading live entertainment company Base Entertainment Asia, renowned for bringing globally celebrated productions to the region, illumi marks a significant collaboration of these entertainment powerhouses after a decade.

Since its debut in Montreal, Canada in October 2019, illumi has garnered an overwhelming response from visitors and media, praised not only for its artistic creativity and immersive experience but also for its transformative effect on ordinary spaces, turning them into magical landscapes. Having captivated over 3.5 million visitors, illumi is now set to light up Singapore’s skyline with the world’s tallest Tree of Lights and 9 unique worlds featuring lifelike animatronic creatures—with thousands of installations brought to life by 20 million LED lights.

illumi invites visitors to explore 9 different themed worlds, each more enchanting than the last. To highlight a few, ‘The Enchanted Maples’ transports guests to Canada with glowing maple leaves and sweet treats from the Sugar Shack. ‘Walls of Lights’ transforms into a winter wonderland with shimmering snowflakes and curtains of twinkling lights. ‘Puppies and Kitties’ offers peace and harmony among over 200 adorable animals. ‘The Magical Forest’ dazzles with multicoloured trees and majestic wildlife.

‘The illumi Tree of Light stands 47 meters tall – the size of 5 Merlions stacked atop one another, which sheds its light on an enchanting carousel for a joyful ride under the moonlight. ‘The Tunnel of Colours’ presents a kaleidoscopic adventure. ‘The Dune Palace’ evokes the Sahara with genies and magic floating carpets. ‘The Jurassic Kingdom’ brings prehistoric creatures to life.

While using 20 million LED lights for its dazzling displays, sustainability is at the core of illumi’s ethos, committed to minimising its environmental footprint. The event adopts energy-efficient lighting technologies and prioritises the use of recycled materials in its installations. Efforts are also focused on optimising energy consumption and reducing waste throughout the event.

THE MAGICAL FOREST

Hundreds of multi-coloured trees of all shapes and sizes, constructed from thousands of glittering lights, set the mood for this kaleidoscopic landscape. The mysterious underbrush is filled with colourful mushrooms, giant snails, and nimble flying squirrels. This is the only place in the world where you can do a walking safari among the majestic wild animals. Stretch your neck to admire the giraffes in all their splendour as they are closely eyed by herds of elephants and zebras. Enjoy flamboyant flamingos in the multi-coloured trees and be dazzled by the majestic swans. A world of wonder awaits you in the magical forest.

PUPPIES AND KITTIES

Never have you been surrounded by so many cats and dogs, in this world where only peace and friendship reign supreme. Some giant cats and dogs stand on guard while hundreds of adorable creatures from dozens of different breeds enjoy themselves freely and in harmony in a vast illuminated park.

THE JURASSIC KINGDOM

This vast plain is a sanctuary for prehistoric creatures. Dozens of dinosaurs roar in the night to protect their vast sacred territory. Come where the dinosaurs rule their kingdom. This landscape immerses you in a scene worthy of a Hollywood blockbuster.

THE MAGICAL FOREST

In this universe, we lose the North and the South Poles. Borders blur in this icy world where penguins and igloos coexist in an endless forest of stalagmites.

THE DUNE PALACE

This world is straight out of the Sahara Desert. The souk is open, and the peasants gather, sing and dance the Baladi under the moonlight. The stars fade under the night sky, so bright are the thousand lights shimmering from the immense palace. A few genies, freed from their magic lamps, grant passers-by their wishes. Camels devour freshly picked fruit, and visitors of all ages appear to have found the secret to flying magic carpets from one end to the other of the village.

THE TUNNEL OF COLOURS

The light is not just at the end of the tunnel. At illumi, LEDs line every inch of our bright and colourful tunnel where anything is possible. This kaleidoscopic corridor is sure to impress. As you move through it, the light tricks that form this tunnel transform reality into a colourful adventure where space and time no longer exist.

THE ILLUMI TREE AND ITS CAROUSEL

illumi’s icon, a majestic 47-metre tree of lights, the size of 5 Merlions stacked together, is visible for kilometres around. Its unparalleled display and brilliance guides visitors to the world’s largest multimedia, sound and light show. 50,000 luminous, interactive spheres light up the illumi tree – for a total of 190,000 LEDs!

Hop on one of the magical carousel horses for a joyful ride under the stars. The rocking of the fabulous mechanical carousel paired with some bewitching music will make you feel like you are galloping gently in the moonlight. WALLS OF LIGHTS

Look up, and admire endless curtains of sparkling snowflakes and scintillating stars that light up the sky. THE ENCHANTED MAPLES

Discover the greatest traditions of Canada through the red and orange maple leaves that literally illuminate the sky and dance to the folk music of yesteryear. The chicken coop, the barn, and the farm animals, including friendly chickens, are a nod to rural Canada.
