Contrary to popular belief, there are many items which cannot be thrown into recycling bins. These include type 6 (PS) plastic, food waste, old textile materials and wood.
Traditionally known as the conversion of waste into something of higher value, upcycling also breathes new life into old products, turning them from unwanted to useful.
Through the period of January to February, you can learn how to upcycle everyday items.
There will be free workshops for the public at Cairnhill CC on the following dates:
- Upcycled Zipper Pouches Workshop, 27 January, 2.30pm – 4pm
- Eco-Enzyme Workshop, 3 February, 2.30pm – 4pm
- Upcycled Bag Workshop, 10 February, 2.30pm – 4pm
Each workshop is limited to 30 pax. Everyone is welcome, but parent-child pairs will be given priority.
