In honor of Singapore’s 60th year of independence, Singapore Citizen babies born in 2025 will receive a specially curated SG60 Baby Gift, filled with toys and practical items designed to support early childhood development. The initiative was announced in parliament on Friday, 28 February 2025, by Indranee Rajah, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, who described the gift as a representation of the nation’s hopes and dreams for its future generations.

The gift package includes a trolley bag containing 10 thoughtfully selected items, all sourced from local brands. Among the highlights is a straw cup set from Singapore-based brand Hegen, featuring an innovative adaptor cap to support babies as they transition to independent feeding. The set also includes SG60-themed building blocks and a toy playset to encourage early learning and development.

Additional items in the gift pack are a silicone food bib, a backpack, a family photobook, a parenting journal, a Becky Bunny plushie, and two storybooks. Becky Bunny, the mascot for Singapore’s Families for Life movement, adds a touch of local charm to the collection.

“We hope parents will use these books to bond with their babies and foster a love for reading from an early age,” said Ms. Indranee during the announcement.

The artwork adorning the items, which features SG60-themed designs and iconic Singapore landmarks, was created by students from Lasalle College of the Arts, according to a press release from the National Population and Talent Division. Each gift will also include a congratulatory letter from Prime Minister Lawrence Wong.

“Our goal is for parents to find this gift both meaningful and practical – helping their children explore the world around them while supporting parents in their nurturing journey,” Ms. Indranee added.

To receive the SG60 Baby Gift, parents of babies born between 1 January and 31 December, 2025, must first complete their child’s birth registration. They can then register for the gift online until 28 February 2026.

Babies originally due in 2025 but born before January 1 are also eligible for the gift. Parents in this category can register by submitting their child’s birth certificate along with a doctor’s certification of the estimated delivery date. Additionally, Singaporean babies born overseas are eligible, though only local delivery is available.

Parents who register by 15 March 2025, can collect the gift at community events scheduled for April and May 2025. Those unable to attend the events or who register after March 15 will receive their gift via home delivery starting mid-May.

This initiative not only celebrates Singapore’s milestone anniversary but also underscores the nation’s commitment to supporting families and nurturing the next generation.
