UOL Malls’ 5th ‘Green Movement With U’, in Collaboration with NEA, Reimagines the Department Store Through Pre-Loved Finds and Circular Living

UOL Malls Green Movement With U

  • Held in partnership with NEA’s annual ‘Say YES to Waste Less’ campaign, this year’s “Pre-Loved / Re-Loved” edition brings sustainable consumption into everyday retail.
  • Through a reimagined department store concept, shoppers can shop pre-loved treasures, participate in hands-on upcycling workshops, discover circular design ideas, and contribute to e-waste and textile recycling initiatives that support responsible disposal and reuse.

Green Movement With U UOL Malls event

Green Movement With U returns today for its fifth edition, with UOL Malls reimagining the department store as a circular living experience that invites shoppers to see pre-loved items as everyday choices worth keeping, repairing, recycling and re-loving.

Launched at Velocity@Novena Square in partnership with the National Environment Agency (NEA), this year’s campaign is held alongside NEA’s annual Say YES to Waste Less (SYTWL) campaign. The collaboration unites both public and private sector efforts to move sustainable consumption from intention to action, giving everyday shoppers more accessible ways to reduce waste, rethink their purchases and keep materials in use for longer.

This also reflects a broader shift in Singapore’s waste-reduction efforts, moving beyond recycling after disposal towards reducing consumption, repairing, reusing and giving items a second life before they become waste. Such habits will be increasingly important as Singapore works to reduce the amount of waste sent to Semakau Landfill and advance a more circular economy.

Running from 24 July to 23 August 2026, Green Movement With U carries the theme Pre-Loved / Re-Loved. The roving event activation and workshops will be held at Velocity@Novena Square from 24 July to 2 August 2026 before moving to United Square from 3 to 9 August 2026.

Across the campaign, shoppers can explore creative educational installations, shop at a Circular Market, participate in upcycling workshops, and contribute to e-waste and textile recycling through partners ALBA and Re:Nue by The Salvation Army.

Pre-Loved / Re-Loved: How A Store Is Reimagined

This year’s activation turns the mall atrium into a reimagined department store built around four experiential zones: The Window, The Floor, The Studio and The Checkout. Each zone translates the idea of circular living into a familiar retail experience, from discovery and browsing to making, collecting and giving used materials a second life.

The event build also reflects this circular approach. Developed with circular design studio WASTD, the activation incorporates materials such as recycled textile boards, recycled wood, coloured steel piping and repurposed components, with raw materials selected for future recycling where possible.

  • Starting from The Window, visitors are welcomed by a reflective mirror installation made from individual fragments, with frames incorporating e-waste such as key caps and cables. Educational panels help shoppers understand how electronics and textiles can be recycled, cared for and kept in use longer.
  • At The Floor, shoppers can browse a Pre-Loved Market featuring pre-loved, upcycled and responsibly made goods across fashion, accessories, stationery, photography and music. Participating vendors include Vintagewknd, Secondtick, OFFCUT, Yappy Film, Ronggeng Records and Future Heirlooms, with the lineup varying across Velocity@Novena Square and United Square.
  • The Studio turns the campaign message into action through workshops centred on reuse, upcycling and responsible disposal. Highlights include weekend workshops such as Vintagewknd’s Keychain Bar Workshop, PlasticTinkers’ 3D Printing Workshop , shoppers can also enjoy free activities such as designing a photo frame during the weekdays or bringing home a mini ALBA bin on Saturdays.
  • The Checkout encourages shoppers to recycle responsibly through e-waste and textile collection drives supported by ALBA and Re:Nue by The Salvation Army. Photo spots made from pre-loved and recycled materials reinforce the value of giving discarded items a second life.

Extending the creative experience beyond the activation, United Square retailer, Tree Art will also present an art exhibition at United Square from 3 to 9 August 2026, offering visitors another way to engage with themes of creativity and renewal.

Making Conscious Shopping Rewarding

From 24 July to 23 August 2026, shoppers at both UOL Malls can take part in mall-wide rewards and spend mechanics. U-POPP members who spend a minimum of S$150 in a maximum of three same-day receipts can redeem an Electric Lunch Box, while shoppers who spend S$60 in up to 3 same-day receipts can redeem a Workshop E-Pass. U-POPP members can also earn 100 bonus POPPoints when they spend a minimum of S$10 in a single receipt at participating Green Retailers.

The campaign reflects UOL Malls’ broader approach to sustainability into everyday mall experiences. With the continued support of NEA’s Say YES to Waste Less initiative, Green Movement with U serves as a platform to make greener habits more visible, accessible and relevant to shoppers, from how they shop and care for items, to how they recycle and give used materials a second life.
