Sentosa Sensoryscape is set to usher in the Year of the Fire Horse with a one-of-a-kind celebration, where Disney icons Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse feature amidst a vibrant tapestry of hinese tradition and legend. In a blend of the modern and the timeless and inspired by the ancient tale of the Eight Steeds of King Mu (八骏马), a classic motif in Chinese art and ancient paintings, ‘Gallop into Spring’ at Sensoryscape (骏启新春) promises a fresh take on Chinese New Year festivities, inviting guests into an imaginative, multi-sensory journey across the island.

Running from 30 January to 3 March 2026, this free event invites guests of all ages to experience Sensoryscape’s festive transformation joining Mickey and Minnie in a celebration of the Year of the Fire Horse.

Featuring Mickey and Friends, guests embark on an immersive adventure through thoughtfully curated zones, each inspired by King Mu’s legendary quest. These areas are designed to awaken the senses – sight, sound, touch, scent – and ignite the imagination, blending tradition with innovation through interactive displays and experiences that celebrate the island’s rich tapestry of heritage and wonder.

Standing proudly at the heart of the experience is Yanyang (炎阳), the Celestial Guardian of King Mu’s steeds, which is also the tallest horse structure ever showcased at Sensoryscape for Chinese New Year celebrations. This awe-inspiring 8-metre-tall centerpiece at Tactile Trellis is surrounded by a thoughtfully curated floral landscape, designed to further enhance the festive atmosphere.

Surrounded by festive blooms such as the striking Celosia, which symbolises boldness and enduring love, this centrepiece is accompanied by 2.5-metre-tall figures of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Guests are encouraged to connect with Yanyang’s eight blessings through engaging, tactile installations that honour the spirit of the Fire Horse Year.

At Lookout Loop, the blessings of the Eight Celestial Horses come to life, each horse representing a unique wish such as vitality, harmony, or renewal. Designed by local artist JooHeng Tan, this installation invites guests to discover their zodiac reflections on Mickey-themed illuminated boards, enhanced by interactive QR codes that offer personalized insights and downloadable zodiac-themed phone screensavers as special keepsakes.

Each curated zone of Sensoryscape reveals a different layer of the celebration. Scent-themed lantern riddles and Mickey at the Scented Sphere invite exploration, with questions that hint at familiar aromas, from delicious festive treats to time-honored traditions. Each interaction unveils a lighthearted moment of celebration for a wondrous, immersive and sensory experience.

As guests continue their journey down Sensoryscape, they can continue their celebration at Symphony Streams where the sculpted natural motifs of the surroundings form a radiant peacock crowned with the signature twelve-sided lantern in glowing jewel tones. Disney favourites Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Donald appear in the surrounds with lanterns in hand. By night, the lantern comes to life with layered projections that further enhances the multisensory experience.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the celebration with Lion-on-Poles performances will showcase traditional artistry, whilst ambience walkabout characters bring festive cheer throughout the day.

Throughout Sensoryscape, an award-winning, multi-sensorial destination, every touchpoint is designed to engage all five senses and the sixth sense of imagination, naturally elevating traditional Chinese New Year festivities into unforgettable experiences. Throughout Sentosa, over 15 island businesses are joining forces to present a diverse array of Chinese New Year offerings that extend beyond Sensoryscape. Guests can immerse themselves in exclusive keepsakes, lively photo opportunities, limited-edition merchandise, themed dining experiences, interactive workshops, and festive pop-up installations at various touchpoints. Highlights include family-friendly activities and unique celebrations curated by Sentosa’s island partners, such as Resorts World Sentosa’s ‘POP MART The Golden Gallop Series’ and special dining promotions all the way to Sentosa Cove. These collaborative efforts ensure that the spirit of ‘Gallop into Spring’ is felt island-wide, creating a cohesive and festive atmosphere from the beach to the hilltop.

Families visiting Sentosa can also take home a piece of the celebration with customisable Disney Zodiac-Themed Pick-A-Name Plates, available at Sentosa Shop islandwide. These collectible plates feature beloved Disney and Pixar characters alongside the twelve Chinese zodiac animals, allowing guests to add a personal touch to their festive celebrations. Whether guests choose to highlight their own zodiac sign or select their favorite Disney character, these customisable nameplates are designed to celebrate personal identity within the cherished tradition of the Chinese zodiac. By blending beloved Disney icons with the symbolism of the zodiac animals, the nameplates provide a distinctive and memorable way to celebrate the Year of the Fire Horse.

Sentosa has also collaborated again with renowned xinyao composer and Singaporean author, Dr Liang Wern Fook (梁文福博士) for an original poem for their 2026 red packets. Dr. Liang Wern Fook brings his mastery of language and cultural understanding to the poem, with a specially composed verse that draws inspiration from the island’s brand identity and signature elements. Crafted in an evergreen style, the poem offers recipients a harmonious blend of festive tradition and literary artistry, making it suitable for use not only during Chinese New Year but also throughout various celebratory occasions year-round.

Adding to this celebration of words and blessings, an installation of a pair of larger-than-life red packets with Mickey and Minnie sits at the end of the Sensoryscape walkway, transforming Dr Liang’s poetry into an immersive photo opportunity where guests can capture the spirit of prosperity and good fortune alongside much-loved Disney characters.
