Orchid Extravaganza: Orchids Of The East Tropics In Gardens By The Bay's Flower Dome

Orchid Extravaganza 2023

This year’s Orchid Extravaganza, presented in partnership with the embassies of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, uncovers the allure of orchids in the east tropics that have captivated early botanical explorers and plant hunters. Each country is represented by orchids cultivated from species native to their land, as well as a recreation of their traditional house, cultural handicrafts and artefacts.

In collaboration with the National Heritage Board, there will also be a showcase of kebaya, in support of the multinational nomination jointly submitted by Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand to inscribe the kebaya on the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

[NEW] Gardens by the Bay and Mediacorp National Day Concert

For the first time in four years, the Gardens by the Bay and Mediacorp National Day Concert returns to a full-scale extravaganza on August 5 at the Meadow – the Gardens’ largest event venue.

The fifth edition of the free concert will bring different communities together to celebrate Singapore’s 58th birthday, with mesmerising performances by multicultural local talents and an inaugural fireworks display.
