What is the Singapore Diving Talent Search?
The Singapore Diving Talent Search is a talent identification (TID) programme for the Olympic sport of diving. The Talent Search entails two hours of specially designed exercises and activities, delivered by Singapore’s National Team coaches, to identify the next generation of potential diving stars.
What does the Session Involve?
The session is delivered in a fun and challenging way, with 50% of the session on the dryland, and 50% of the session in the pool.
Dryland: the divers will work through some warm-up exercises before embarking on some diving specific skills. This will include trampoline and gymnastic based skills, as well as some simple tests to assess body shape, strength, and flexibility.
In the pool: the divers will work through an introductory diving session. The divers will have a chance to attempt basic skills from the poolside and lower boards, and maybe even get a feeling of what it’s like to stand on the 10 metre Olympic platform.
Remember, safety is our top priority. As no diving experience is required, the session will be tailored to fit the children’s confidence level and ability.
Why should I Attend Singapore Diving’s Talent Search?
- You have the opportunity to take part in a free diving and trampoline session run by national team divers and coaches;
- You will learn a range of new skills and improve the ones you already have;
- It only costs the ActiveSG pool entry fee of $0.50-$0.60!
- You could gain a place in the National Programme;
- You don’t want to be left wondering… what if?
