Our Tampines Hub, Singapore’s largest integrated community and lifestyle hub, will be hosting the New Year Eve Countdown on Tuesday, 31 December 2019 with live performances, family-friendly fringe activities, dazzling fireworks and new retail offerings.
About 100,000 Tampines residents and Hub visitors are expected to soak up the year-end Festive Season with lots of fun-filled fringe activities during the day with free access to selected facilities. Residents can also welcome the New Year with a spectacular Countdown Party at the Town Square with spectacular fireworks, laser showcase and dazzling display of wave flames at the stroke of midnight, complete with a Party Pack for Town Square ticket holders!
During the New Year Countdown Concert at the Town Square, 8,000 spectators can catch exciting stage performances hosted by popular hosts Suhaimi Yusof and Belinda Lee. Lined up among the exciting performers are The Pyro Man, Tay Kewei & Alfred Sim, and Malay acapella group Juz-B who will be singing soulful Mandopop music.
Other eye-catching acts include spectacular fireworks, the wave flames and laser showcase – dazzling display of multi-coloured lights – that are free for all to watch and will certainly entertain the whole family.
There will be plenty of activities for the entire family to enjoy such as a Giant Ball Pit and robotic rides at the Children’s Playzone at Central Plaza, a Kids Carnival at The Arena featuring dinosaur rides, football darts, inflatable penalty, high striker, bumper cars, bouncy castles and more. Admission is also free for the eco-friendly skating rink, Slide & Glade, at Festive Walk East!
Hub visitors can catch the best of 2019 movies back-to-back with free flow of snacks at Festive Plaza and Central Plaza, as well as free IP Man 4: The Finale screenings at Festive Arts Theatre. For those with a sweet tooth, there will be a wide variety of cookies, cakes and other local delicacies at the Wellness Market.
Other highlights at OTH is the Giant Inflatable Snow Globe, a snowy wonderland inside a huge transparent inflatable globe for Insta-worthy photo opportunities for friends and families.
The Giant Inflatable Snow Globe is located along Festive Walk East till Wednesday, 1 January 2020.
In addition, visitors can check out OTH’s first new-to-Tampines Food Village along Festive Drive, with partners such as Halal Food Truck, The Travelling Cow, The Foody Truck, Coffee Bandits, The Good Burger and the Island Surfer, serving delicious local delights and western favourites. From 28 to 31 December, $5,000 worth of Festive Village vouchers will be distributed onsite. OTH is also offering several new food & beverage outlets new to Tampines such as Gado & Grill, Curry & Spize, Nene Chicken, Shake Shake in A Tub, and Kengee, which features Taiwanese artisan bread, snacks and pastries.
Kungfu fans of Hong Kong actor Donnie Yen should not miss the opportunity to check out the IP MAN Pavilion, a 3D trick-eye illusion and iconic sets from the previous three IP MAN movies. The display includes Ip Man’s living room equipped with the wooden dummy and furniture, pictures of Ip Man and his family on the walls and the classic sparring scene on the big round table. The Pavilion will be on display till 6 January 2020.
In an effort to promote the Tampines Kindness Movement, a community activity corner will be designated at Festive South, where 100 Beelys will be painted by 300 residents. These “lollipop Beelys” will be displayed throughout Tampines Town from early 2020.
This Christmas, pick up the latest craze Pinkfong and Tokidoki merchandise at their retail pop-up stores near Festive Plaza. Visitors can drop by to find out more about discounts and promotions exclusive to Tampines residents, as these cute merchandise will make wonderful gifts for friends and family.
Not forgetting our elderly residents, OTH will be hosting the special Merdeka Generation Showcase where residents can learn more about the 5 Merdeka Generation benefits. The showcase will be in collaboration with Ministry of Communication and Information (MCI) and the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) and will feature interactive booths and engagement clinics along Festive Walk West.
