Qn: My girl refuses to eat fish and vegetables. I am a working mummy and have little time to do creative dishes. What are other alternatives?
Ans: As long as your child is eating food from each food group, namely carbohydrates, protein, and fat, with a good amount of fruits and vegetables, you don’t have to worry. If she refuses to eat fish, you can always give alternative meats like chicken, pork and beef. Give foods high in calcium such as tofu, yoghurt, cheese so she can still build healthy bones despite not eating fish.
Vegetables and fruits can be presented in different ways to make them appear more appetizing.
For example, you can use special food cutters to cut out carrots or potatoes in different shapes to make them more appealing to your girl. Your child may refuse to eat some vegetables, but are open to trying new ones. So try varying the vegetables you offer to her. You can also use fruits and some vegetables to make a smoothie for her to get her to increase her intake of vitamins and minerals.
