This Singapore Art Week, Lobster Beach by Philip Colbert takes over Sentosa’s beachfront from 24 Jan – 15 Feb 2026 with oversized sculptures full of colour, humour and imagination.

Don’t miss the towering 8m ice-cream, plus more works and exclusive merchandise at Tanjong Beach Club.
Lobster Beach by Philip Colbert
Philip Colbert transforms Tanjong Beach and Beach Club into an immersive outdoor exhibition, bringing his iconic Lobster sculptures to the shoreline. At its centre stands a monumental 8-metre Lobster Ice Cream, towering playfully over the beach in a melting ice cream costume, exploring the transformative power of disguise. Echoing the surreal fluidity of Dali’s melting clocks, the work evokes the eternal nostalgia of summer, while positioning ice cream as a symbol of pop
surrealism.

Across the sand, a series of large-scale Lobster inflatables, including the Lobster Shark, Lobster Octopus, and Lobster Fish, reimagine the Lobster in playful marine forms. These sculptures in inflatable form are akin to a mascot in brand promotion, but also draw on art historical references such as Claes Oldenberg’s soft sculptures of everyday objects. Together, the works transform the beach into a pop-art surreal playground blending art, humour, and beach culture.

Colbert’s Lobster takeover extends beyond the beach with his solo exhibition at Whitestone Gallery 24 January – 14 March 2026 and his appearance at Art SG 23 – 25 January 2026.
