With the June school holidays in full swing, parents on the lookout for wholesome and interactive arts programmes should check out Family Fun @ Arts House Limited! With two full weekends of activities from workshops to hands-on activities at The Arts House and Goodman Arts Centre, there’s something for the whole family.
Journey into the world of little monsters
Head down to The Arts House from 17th to 19th June 2022, 11am to 5pm for a line-up of literary-based programmes for children aged 3 to 12. Journey into the imaginative universe of little monsters and discover their world of stories as Monstrous Fun piques the curiosity of children and ignites their sense of adventure! Children can take part in interactive storytelling sessions, participate in parent-child yoga storytelling classes and get crafty with hands-on activities.
The Arts House has collaborated with partners such as Maha Yu Yi, Mini Monsters, and Nool Monsters to showcase a comprehensive weekend line-up of both free and ticketed activities. Here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect:
- Parent and child yoga and storytelling experience with Mindful Movement
- Have your child put their sleuthing skills to the challenge with Monsters’ Hunt – a scavenger hunt where they will solve puzzles to unearth a magical cave and win exciting prizes
- Get crafty and make your own fabric patches, monster magnet or tote bag
- Expand your home library by picking up books from the Children’s Book Fair which will feature over 100 titles on offer
- Interactive storytelling sessions and book readings in four languages
Before you leave, participate in free drop-in activities such as the extensive craft-making sessions. You can also capture precious moments with your loved ones at the Monsters’ Photobooth where you can choose your favourite props, strike a pose and flash your biggest smiles.
Sessions for the various programmes are filling up fast so do book your slots now!
One-of-a-kind open house experience with performances, workshops and a pop-up market
It’s back!!! Goodman Arts Centre returns with their annual Goodman Open House and you can expect a one-of-a-kind experience at Singapore’s largest arts enclave – melding a wide array of arts and culture activities in an urban community farm setting. Keep 25th June Saturday 10am to 5pm on your calendar free as families will be treated to roving performances, interactive art workshops and all-day fringe activities.
We all know Singaporeans love to shop and the pop-up food and art market is the perfect place to browse and pick up handmade trinkets and wares to bring home. And if you’ve ever wondered what the workspaces of artists look like – you’ll get a chance to peek into artists’ studios and perhaps get some creative juices of your own flowing.
For parents of children with energy to spare, we recommend booking slots in the different dance workshops that will be conducted by some of Singapore’s most dynamic local dance troupes – there’s nothing like moving to music and working up a sweat to end the day on a high note!
Book your tickets and save the date for a day of playful fun for the whole family at Goodman Arts Centre, see you there!
With so many interactive activities lined up for the June Kids Festival 2022, families can look forward to discovering stories, channeling creativity, strengthening familial bonds and having a lot of fun while doing all that!
