This year-end school holidays, revel in an exciting line-up of activities at the Indian Heritage Centre‘s (IHC) with its Little Adventurers year-end holiday programmes from 19 November to 25 December 2022! Themed Get Moving, there will be a plethora of offerings for the whole family to enjoy, which reference IHC’s permanent collection and focus on traditional Indian performing arts!

IHC December School HolidaysInteractive play space introducing dance, music and theatre at second level of the Indian Heritage Centre

An interactive play space takes over the second level of the centre to introduce young visitors to the concept of ‘Movement and Sound’ through three mediums: dance, music and theatre.

Visitors can enter dance pods to learn movements from the traditional Indian dance forms bharatanatyam, odissi and kathak with the help of instructional videos, or groove to the beat in an exploration of konnakol – an Indian rhythmic art – with an interactive structure embedded with speakers and lights. In addition, our guests will be able to recreate stories from Indian folklore with theatre props, and design their very own traditional costumes!

For the first time, IHC will be hosting Baby Beats, a workshop for babies to experience classical music tunes performed with traditional Indian instruments. Families can also head over to the Soul Letters performance workshop, where children learn to embody and create letters from the Tamil language by participating in a performance.

Other December holiday programmes include puppet-themed activity kits, and workshops and performances by various arts groups. Registration is required for selected programmes at here. Admission to IHC is free for Singaporeans and PRs.
