Charlie Lim closed the first night of Gardens by the Bay’s inaugural Celebrate YOUth!: Electric Garden concert series in the outdoors yesterday evening.
In the heart of the city, against the backdrop of the Supertrees at Silver Garden, the first night of Gardens by the Bay’s inaugural Celebrate YOUth!: Electric Garden concert series in the outdoors closed yesterday evening with a memorable performance by one of the biggest names in the local music scene – Charlie Lim.
Daniel Sid, with his distinctive voice and insightful lyrics, brought a unique depth to the first day of the concert series, showcasing his talent as a singer-songwriter.
More than 4,000 people turned up for the four-hour-long concert at the 1,360sqm space. In a debut collaboration, Charlie performed with the school choir, Victoria Chorale. This is the theme of Celebrate YOUth!: Electric Garden, which is entirely free and will have another edition this evening featuring an all-new lineup of performers, as well as over three days of the Christmas weekend, from December 22 to December 24.
Headlined by prominent local artistes like Charlie Lim, Benjamin Kheng, Linying and Iman Fandi, these big names will join forces with youth and community groups in a dynamic blend of song and dance performances. Over 30 local artistes and community groups, curated to showcase a mix of genres and styles from rock to electronic to hip-hop, are on the performance line-up.

In upcoming performances that range from half an hour to a full hour, Benjamin Kheng will perform with the ITE Show Choir, Linying with four-man Bangladeshi migrant worker rock band Betelgeuse in a unique collaboration of her own initiation, and Iman Fandi with dancers from the dance studio Danz People.
