FUN FACTS
* Lightwire Theater creators, Ian Caney and Corbin Popp, met while dancing on Broadway. An immediate connection was made as they discovered their mutual love of art, theater and technology. After coming across a product called “El” Wire, the lights turned on and the possibilities seemed endless. Together with their wives, Eleanor Carney and Whitney Popp, they began to develop puppetry-based creatures that quickly came to “light”. Despite successful careers in New York, they returned to New Orleans shortly after Hurricane Katrina hit their hometown, with the hopes of rebuilding their city.
* Lightwire Theater became internationally recognized for their signature brand of electroluminescent artistry, poignant storytelling and music scores designed to evoke imagery after their stint in American’s Got Talent.
* For Lightwire Theatrer’s debut in Singapore, the show will also feature iconic sights and sounds of Singapore and brings a whole new meaning to coming “home for the holidays”.
* Besides USA, Lightwire Theater has traveled the world, including performances in Abu Dhabi, Russia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Berlin, Estonia, China, Belarus and Paris.
* Lightwire Theater builds everything themselves using electroluminescent wire (aka “el” wire), recycled materials and common household items typically found at Home Depot, Sports Authority and Wal-Mart that include: Election signs, Skate Board Wheels, Dryer Ducting, Plumbing Supplies, PVC Pipes, Fishing Poles, Duct Tape, Zip Ties, Back Packs and of course batteries!
