Diving into Two Exciting Sets:

Heartlake City Community Center (41748) is an engaging multi-level building designed for kids aged 9+. It features themed rooms like the music studio, recording studio, art studio, and a chill-out zone where mini-dolls like Songwriter Paisley, Olly, Liann, Nova, and Zac can enjoy various activities. This set includes 6 mini-dolls, a pet dog, and numerous accessories. It seamlessly combines with the LEGO Friends Heartlake City Community Kitchen (41747) for extended storytelling. With an impressive 1513 pieces and it’s a true gem.

For nature and ocean lovers aged 7+, the LEGO® Friends Sea Rescue Center (41736) is a dream set. It includes 3 mini-dolls and various aquatic creatures like 2 sea otters, a seahorse, and a sea turtle. Accessories like a water scooter, life vest, and more inspire imaginative play. Children can engage in activities like cleaning, x-raying, and feeding the otters, ultimately releasing them into the ocean.

Real-Life Scenarios Come to Life:

One remarkable aspect of LEGO® Friends Toys is their attention to detail. These sets include items that resonate with kids in their daily lives. From game consoles and a parent’s work desk complete with a computer and spinning chair to gardening tools and board games, the toys incorporate elements that kids can easily relate to. This connection to the real world adds depth to the imaginative play experience.

Unique LEGO Friends Figures:

For us who have never own LEGO® Friends before, this LEGO® Friends set was a delightful discovery. It’s worth noting that LEGO® Friends figures are different from the traditional LEGO® minifigures. These figures have legs that are a single piece, which means the legs cannot be moved separately. This unique design adds a distinct character to the mini dolls.

Versatile Play:

The Heartlake City Community Center is a standout example of versatility. It can be played with as a four-storey building or taken apart and used separately as four distinct landed estates. This flexibility allows children to adapt their playtime to their preferences, encouraging creativity and adaptability.

Intricate Details:

What sets these sets apart are the many little details that enhance the play experience. From drawers filled with “paint’s bottles” that can be pulled out to a spinning sewing machine, these sets are filled with surprises waiting to be uncovered. These intricate details capture the essence of creativity and exploration.

Building Together:

Building these LEGO® sets was a collaborative experience for us. The instruction manual came in four books, each focusing on a level of the building. This allowed each child to work at their own pace, fostering independence and teamwork. After completing their sections, they joyfully combined their creations into a cohesive whole.

Instruction Manual:

One noticeable difference we found as compared to LEGO® DREAMZzz™ was that LEGO® Friends provided fewer details in the physical instruction manual. Such that it did not clearly indicate where the pieces should go during some parts of the instructions. However, fear not as these details can be found in LEGO® Builder app. This feature is especially helpful for kids who might find it challenging to identify the placement due to similar colors.

Excitement and Pretend Play:

The building process was met with excitement as the kids noticed familiar items, such as a game controller resembling a Nintendo Switch and mobile phone with tripod. Once the Heartlake City Community Center was complete, they quickly transitioned into pretend play, imagining friends coming over for a Nintendo Switch playdate and other real-life adventures.

In summary, LEGO® Friends Toys offer a rich and imaginative play experience filled with vibrant colors, relatable elements from everyday life, and intricate details. These sets encourage creativity, teamwork, and endless hours of imaginative play, making them a wonderful addition to any child’s playtime arsenal.
