“The Planet Awakens”, Exploria’s signature light show spectacle at Our Interconnected World, welcomes visitors as they begin their discovery through the different worlds
Hidden realms of the natural world will soon come alive at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve with the opening of Exploria on 3 March 2026. Spanning 10,000 square metres, Exploria is one of Southeast Asia’s largest indoor, nature-themed multimedia attractions, inviting visitors to experience extraordinary environments and phenomena rarely accessible to humans – from prehistoric eras and extreme habitats, to microscopic ecosystems and the depths of ocean darkness. Through immersive architecture and responsive media, Exploria reveals nature at scales and perspectives beyond everyday reach.
Exploria welcomes visitors of all ages, with a focus on engaging teenagers and young adults. The multi-sensory attraction shows how life survives and adapts across Earth’s ecosystems using real-world footage and science-led storytelling. Visitors can walk among towering dinosaurs, experience the power of a monsoon storm, and peer into microbial worlds under magnified projections. Interactive elements and layered engagements allow visitors to explore at their own pace, deepening their understanding of how ecosystems function, how species adapt and how human choices can influence the balance of life on the planet.

Bennett Neo, Group CEO, Mandai Wildlife Group, said, “With Exploria, we are opening a new dimension of nature at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve. Visitors step into immersive worlds where hidden systems of life come alive, from the tiniest insects to the forest canopy above. Through science-guided storytelling and interactive exploration, they witness the delicate balance of ecosystems and experience how everything in nature is connected. Exploria is a bold addition to our wildlife and nature destination, inviting everyone to explore, learn and connect with the natural world in ways they’ve never imagined.”
Visitors begin their journey at Our Interconnected World, the central hub of Exploria, before venturing into five immersive worlds. At the heart of the hub is the Biopool, anchored by a four-metre LED globe that gently pulses like a living heartbeat, symbolising the interconnectedness of humans and nature. As visitors explore, every action sends visible pulses of light to the globe, which responds in real-time to the collective participation. This interaction expresses Exploria’s central idea that small individual actions combine to create meaningful change. The globe also comes alive during The Planet Awakens, Exploria’s signature light and sound show, igniting the space with synchronised projections, dynamic colours and rhythms that capture the energy and diversity of the five worlds that await.

Each world offers its own unique exploration and surprises. To enhance the experience, a recyclable Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) wristband adds a personalised, interactive element. Visitors can create a digital avatar, activate interactive installations and earn species badges as they engage with the responsive media features. A live scoreboard in Exploria’s exit tunnel tracks each visitor’s progress. Each guest’s profile remains active for a year, encouraging friendly competition and repeat visits as they continue to collect badges and build their achievements over time. The experience also encourages close attention to the surroundings through Hidden Gems – subtle surprises embedded within the physical environment by scanning RFID wristbands at specific spots. Additionally, each world features Memory Hooks – unique photo stations that can be unlocked for guests to capture memorable moments from new perspectives.
In Realm of the Giants, visitors step into a world where prehistoric life towers overhead. Monumental installations and augmented reality (AR) windows bring ancient landscapes to life, placing guests face-to-face with Mesozoic dinosaurs and colossal sea creatures that once ruled the Earth. A centrepiece of this zone is The Giants Show – an eight-minute, 360-degree standing theatre experience that surrounds visitors in visuals, light, sound and motion, sweeping them through 500 million years of life on Earth, from the rise of the earliest giants across land, sea and sky, to their dramatic extinction.
Micro Worlds shifts attention to life at vastly different scales. Interactive glass orbs and projection domes magnify hidden microbial and invertebrate ecosystems usually hidden from the naked eye. Guests peer into the unseen worlds of plankton, insect colonies, fungi and bacteria, discovering how these tiny yet crucial organisms quietly sustain life on Earth.
At Bitdeer AI Extreme Frontiers, visitors are transported to some of the planet’s most challenging environments through virtual expeditions and simulator rooms. From polar bears navigating melting Arctic ice to Namaqua chameleons thermoregulating in arid deserts and demoiselle cranes migrating at high altitudes, the experience offers a visceral glimpse into habitats few humans will ever encounter firsthand.

Infinite Wonderland celebrates the extraordinary biodiversity of rainforests and coral reefs through richly layered multi-sensory details. Wildlife emerges from dense foliage and vibrant reefscapes, revealing species that often remain concealed in these complex ecosystems. World of Darkness uncovers the secrets of life without light in caves and the deep ocean, highlighting the remarkable adaptations of species such as the bioluminescent vampire squids, eyeless yeti crabs and blind cave fish.

Along the journey, visitors may also encounter unexpected Disruptive Moments – a powerful narrative interlude that spotlights conservation messages and invites them to pledge their commitment to protect nature and wildlife. Together, the five worlds form a journey through Earth’s hidden natural systems, encouraging visitors to marvel at life’s diversity and reflect on their role in the interconnected web that sustains our planet.

Key Features
Our Interconnected World (五界之心)
Our Interconnected World is the heart of Exploria, where visitors begin their journey to explore extraordinary environments across five worlds.
Biopool (百物池)
Key to the introductory experience, the Biopool features a 4-metre LED globe that gently pulses like a living heartbeat, symbolising the interconnectedness of humans and nature. As visitors explore, every action sends visible pulses of light to the globe, which responds in real-time to the collective participation. This interaction expresses Exploria’s central idea that small individual actions combine to create meaningful change.
The globe also comes alive during The Planet Awakens, Exploria’s signature light and sound show that draws visitors inwards, igniting the space with synchronised projections, dynamic colours and rhythms that represent the different worlds as well as interconnectedness of life. Guests can interact with touchscreens beneath the globe, triggering waves of light that travel across – a visual cue that their actions affect the web of life. This is also where guests scan their RFID wristband to create a digital avatar, unlock content and begin earning points as they embark on their virtual expedition.
Worlds (视界)
1. Realm of the Giants (巨物奇观)

Realm of the Giants transports visitors on a journey through four prehistoric eras to the present day, exploring some of the largest animals ever to walk the Earth. Guests enter a vast gallery dominated by towering sculptures of megafauna such as the Tyrannosaurus rex and giant ground sloth. Augmented reality (AR) windows animate these ancient creatures with layered visuals, sounds and vibrations. RFID interaction points activate light and sound effects that highlight their scale, movement and physical features, bringing the experience of deep time vividly to life.
The Giants Show* (巨物缩史)

Exploration of Realm of the Giants culminates in The Giants Show, an 8-minute immersive experience. Visitors step onto a platform and ascend to a 360-degree visual environment that traces the growth and extinction of colossal creatures, enhanced by motion, mist and other special effects.
*Children below 6 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Guests with motion sickness or dizziness, or sensitivity to light, sound and/or mist are not permitted to participate.
Slots should be reserved on the booking portal two hours in advance.
2. Micro Worlds (显微奇观)

At Micro Worlds, the small but mighty take centre stage, revealing the hidden ecosystems of life at microscopic scale. In this wonder library, illuminated glass orbs magnify organisms such as slime mould, worms and ants, revealing details normally invisible to the naked eye. Interactive orbs and projection domes introduce microorganisms and invertebrates, including tardigrades, plankton and bees, enabling guests to activate responses, and experience the world as if they have shrunk to the size of these small but essential life forms.
3. Bitdeer AI Extreme Frontiers (Bitdeer AI 极限探索)

Bitdeer AI Extreme Frontiers highlights four different challenging environments – the arid desert, icy Arctic, high altitude and the modern city. Each interactive zone is enclosed by floor-to-ceiling screens that respond to visitor movement, triggering real-world footage of wildlife adapting to extreme conditions. This includes demoiselle cranes migrating at high altitudes to polar bears hunting food in the Arctic, Namaqua chameleons surviving desert heat, and reticulated pythons navigating underground spaces beneath an urban city.
Simulators transport visitors deeper into these environments through physical effects, including temperatures ranging from 4°C to 40°C, wind speeds of up to 70km/h, vibrations and layered soundscapes. Together, these elements create an immersive sense of scale, intensity and environmental challenge.
4. Infinite Wonderland (万象森罗)

Infinite Wonderland explores the rich biodiversity of rainforests and coral reefs. Visitors begin high in the rainforest canopy as a monsoon storm unfolds, then descend through the dense vegetation to the forest floor. Along the way, environmental cues prompt guests to search for hidden species, tap their wristband to reveal them, and encounter wildlife such as the orangutan among hanging vegetation and the Malayan tiger stalking its prey at close range. Leaving the rainforest, visitors enter a reflective kaleidoscopic cave that transitions into an underwater world. Reactive screens unveil marine life, and a wristband interaction triggers the impressive natural phenomenon of coral spawning.
5. World of Darkness (暗夜秘境)

World of Darkness invites visitors into environments where light is scarce and senses are heightened – revealing the beauty and complexity of life in darkness. The experience begins in a network of dimly lit caves, where guests navigate winding tunnels and discover how animals such as the lesser horseshoe bat, Cuban boa and Mexican blind cavefish perceive their surroundings. The journey continues into the deep sea, where creatures like the Atolla jellyfish and sailfin rough shark appear in response to human presence. The zone concludes with a large-scale projection of vibrant bioluminescent species that glow and shift as visitors move closer.
2. Gamification Layer
Across all five worlds, visitors use their RFID wristband to interact with touchpoints that unlock digital content and activate experiences. As they explore, visitors can collect virtual badges, medals and participate in online quests to accumulate points which may be redeemed for rewards such as exclusive collectible pins. A post-visit email connects guests back to the experience, enabling them to track their progress, download photos and discover opportunities to return. User profiles remain active for a year, encouraging repeat visits to earn more points and build achievements over time.
