Resorts World Sentosa (RWS, 圣淘沙名胜世界) welcomes the Year of the Horse with a dynamic, pop-charged Chinese New Year celebration running from 16 January to 15 March 2026. Putting a bold, modern spin on traditions, the resort comes alive with vibrant installations, large-scale décor, high-energy performances and joyful encounters, ushering a year filled with wonder, imagination and playful exploration.

Across the resort, Chinese New Year décor transforms iconic areas such as WEAVE, Lake of Dreams and the Grand Steps into a festive playground as traditional Chinese festive motifs are reimagined through a cheerful, pop-styled lens with eye-catching visual elements. Setting the tone for a season that celebrates abundance, movement and new beginnings, guests are encouraged to wander, explore and discover new surprises around every corner, where each space reveals a different expression of wonder.

Complementing the installations is a lively line-up of festive performances designed to animate the resort throughout the season. Guests can enjoy the Prosperity Lions – Pounce and Play, a showcase featuring a vibrant troupe of five lion-dance mascots who will appear in mesmerising, vibrant colours and bring the spirit of the new year to the space through their distinct personalities and playful interactions, while roving entertainers and live bands bring an energetic soundtrack to the festivities, adding a sense of wonder throughout the resort.

Zodiac Displays will also be available for guests to discover their fortune at WEAVE. Lake of Dreams takes centre stage after dusk, transforming into a nightly visual and musical spectacle with Lunar Lights: A POP-SPERITY Show. The show unfolds under the night sky as flowing lanterns, synchronised lighting and a lively lion dance performance build excitement before culminating in the grand arrival of the Dragon of Good Fortune.

Blending movement, light and sound, guests can look forward to a highly energetic performance that evokes a sense of theatre and wonder as the resort comes alive after dusk, turning the evening into a memorable moment of wonder.

Extending the spirit of Pop-sperity, Singapore Oceanarium invites guests to celebrate the Chinese New Year with a thoughtfully curated lineup of immersive activities, educational experiences and festive offerings.

At the heart of the celebrations is A Star of Hope for the Ocean. From 16 January to 3 March 2026, guests are greeted by a larger-than-life POP MART Twinkle Twinkle installation, standing 2.4-metres high at the Entrance Plaza. Carrying the New Year’s blessings, it wishes visitors fortune guiding their journey into a radiant new chapter, setting the tone for an ocean-inspired festive season.

Spring into Waves of Wonder: A festive celebration beneath the waves

Singapore Oceanarium CNY Underwater Dive presentation

Anchoring the festivities is Spring into Waves of Wonder, a marine celebration running from 30 January to 3 March 2026. Drawing inspiration from the zodiac, the programme spotlights the seahorse as a symbol of vitality and resilience.

Central to the experience is Waves of Harmony, a dazzling underwater dive presentation at the Open Ocean Habitat, presented daily at 3.30pm, with an additional presentation on 17 February at 2pm. Watch a mesmerising dragon dance unfold beneath the water. For the first time, two elegant seahorses will join the two symbolic dragons, descending in harmony to offer a warm and radiant greeting to visitors. This choreographed display celebrates unity and gratitude, leaving a lasting impression on audiences.

Hangyodon Meet and Greet

For a more playful moments at the Open Ocean habitat, don’t miss the Manta Ray mascot meet-and-greet, happening twice daily. Dressed in festive outfits, the mascot is a perennial favourite with kids, perfect for photos and cheerful memories.

A Vibrant Ocean

Beyond the choreographed presentation, guests can dive into the festive season as Singapore Oceanarium welcomes the Year of the Horse with offerings inspired by seahorses. This season, the oceanarium comes alive with meaningful touchpoints, such as colourful information panels at the Seahorse Habitat which offer insights into the fascinating features of these remarkable animals.

Complementing the visual presentations is a specially curated series of cultural music performances. Centred on the theme of wonder, the programme highlights the oceans’ vibrancy as a metaphor for diversity and harmony; bringing together three distinct acts – Open Score Project, The Straits Collective, and Artusik Multicultural Ensemble.

The Artusik Multiethnic Ensemble blends Asian instruments with modern sounds and invites you to join an easy, guided angklung play-along. The Straits Collective serves up a lively “musical potluck,” where musicians take turns leading familiar and new tunes – so you can discover the stories behind the sounds. And lastly, Open Score Project brings a bold Singaporean mix of styles shaped by major showcases, making multicultural music feel festive and welcoming for all.

These performances will happen across four Saturdays, from 7 to 28 February 2026. Performances run from 5.30pm to 6.15pm and 6.30pm to 7.10pm, creating a festive soundscape that celebrates ethnic diversity and the spirit of togetherness.

The celebrations extend to specially curated Chinese New Year retail offerings, including seahorse plushes as well as seahorse-inspired souvenirs and accessories that mark the season while highlighting Singapore Oceanarium’s commitment to marine appreciation and education.

Guests can also look forward to festive treats such as Seahorse Pineapple Croffles, Chinese New Year-themed sea animal cookies and eye-catching cupcakes designed in the festive theme. In addition, those born in the year of the horse can also redeem a complimentary soft-serve ice cream at Explorer’s Nook, during this festive period, while stocks last.

Together, these curated experiences invite guests to welcome the New Year through ocean-inspired traditions, meaningful encounters, and a deeper connection to marine life.
