Nature Playgarden
The nature playgarden at Coastal PlayGrove is interwoven into the landscape, to enable children to play in an environment immersed in nature. There are several themed sections to introduce children to different habitats. In all play features, natural materials such as wood, sand, and gravel are used. Biodiversity attracting trees and shrubs are planted to pique the curiosity of children.
In the first section, children can explore bamboo tunnel trail which evokes a sense of mystery. In the second section, children can engage in imaginative play as they hop along the log trails and hide out at the teepees, all while being surrounded by a mix of exotic shrubs that attract butterflies and native plants to mimic the native forest habitat. The last section consists of a trail leading to a sandpit that is planted with native shrubs that attract biodiversity. Children can spot the various flowers and fruits, and the wildlife they attract such as butterflies, bees and birds.

NParks’ first outdoor classroom by the sea for pre-schoolers has a chalkboard with boulders and log stools, and a view of the sea. This feature offers preschools in the area more programming options, as they can conduct activities in the outdoor classroom, coupled with play in the nature playgarden.
