Tampines Quarry, an abandoned and unused sand quarry had collected rainwater and formed a lake over time. The quarry was originally used as sand was important for construction. However, the quarry had to stop operating as it was causing environmental damage.
Having been abandoned for years, the Tampines quarry is now surrounded by thick foliage of vegetation.
Today, Tampines Quarry Lake is a serene oasis that offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The lake is surrounded by lush greenery and is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including water birds, dragonflies, snakes, lizards and turtles.
It is important to note that swimming in Tampines Quarry Lake can be dangerous, especially for those who are not strong swimmers or who are unfamiliar with the area.
