The March school holiday are the perfect time for your family to trade screens for greenery! From 14 to 19 March 2026, NParks is inviting children to dive into a world of adventure and discovery at the Singapore Botanic Gardens with a fantastic lineup of nature-filled activities.

Young chefs can try baking pineapple tarts, while budding naturalists can hunt for plant specimens, discover the amazing diversity of local birds, or learn about the “superpowers” of gingers. There are even free storytelling sessions for younger kids. Best of all, many of these programmes are free or offer unique hands-on learning experiences.

2. The Great Plant Hunt (New)

Did you know that the Singapore Herbarium is 151 years old this year and home to a collection of 800,000 plant specimens? Join us on an exciting hunt and discover more about the art and science of plant research and conservation in the Gardens since 1875 at the Pressing Plant Matters exhibition. Explore interactive displays and immerse yourself in nature as you hunt for answers around the Gallop Extension. Participants who complete this challenge will win a limited-edition enamel pin featuring our local plants and animals.

3. Fabulous Birds of Singapore (A Biodiversity Workshop)

Discover the amazing diversity of birds found in Singapore such as sunbirds, doves, raptors, kingfishers and herons as well as our visiting migratory birds! This workshop includes a guided walk through the gardens to observe birds in their natural habitat and to study fascinating specimens of different nests and feathers.
