All aboard for a trip to Japan—no plane ticket needed! Fun, food and travel await at the Japan Travel Fair 2024.
Presented by JAPAN RAIL CAFE, this fifth iteration of the much-anticipated Japanese lifestyle and travel event invites visitors on a journey to rediscover the wonders of Japan. With the country claiming the top spot as the preferred destination for travellers from Singapore in 2024¹, the event arrives at the perfect time, tapping into the continuous love for all things Japanese.
Hop aboard the epic three-day Japan-themed fair to experience the sights, sounds and flavours of Japan through the numerous free family-friendly activities and delicious delicacies represented by an impressive number of 26 booths*. From travel insights, traditional Japanese foods, unique beverages and cultural experiences, attendees will have the opportunity to relive and explore new and unexpected aspects and regions of Japan.
Since its inception in 2020, it has grown from strength to strength, serving as a beacon for showcasing all things Japanese in Singapore. Each year, the event has expanded its offerings, attracting more visitors and partners, and cementing its position as a must-attend event for Japan enthusiasts and curious travellers alike.

There is no entry fee. The fair will operate during the following hours:
- 11th October, Friday: 11am – 8pm
- 12th October, Saturday: 11am – 8pm
- 13th October, Sunday: 11am – 6pm

Travel Essentials
Explore 19 travel and tourism booths featuring major players such as AirJapan from the ANA Group, Hoshino Resorts, Japan Airlines (JAL), and JR Kyushu as well as regional representatives from Yamaguchi, Hokkaido, J.CLAIR Singapore, and more. These booths are one’s ticket to Japan, providing information and exclusive offers to enrich travel planning.
From browsing travel content to discovering destination highlights and insider tips, both seasoned and new travellers are sure to leave with a wealth of knowledge and inspiration for their next trip to Japan.
Culinary Exploration
Besides booths ‘feeding’ visitors with essential travel information, they will also be serving up delicious bites from Japan’s diverse culinary landscape.
Visitors will experience the country’s food and dining scene firsthand with the fair’s delightful selection of Japanese culinary treats, including iconic snacks, seasonal produce, and alcohol.
Akita Prefecture Booth at TJRF 2023 – Anticipate quintessential Akita products at their 2024 booth!
The fair’s gastronomic journey will showcase flavours from all parts of Japan, with numerous products hailing from all regions such as Akita Prefecture in Northern Japan or Fukuoka Prefecture in Western Japan. Visitors can look forward to tasting fresh, local produce such as high-quality dairy products from Hokkaido’s Yotsuba Milk Products Co. Ltd as well as smoky and chewy iburi gakko (smoked pickles) and sugar-free 100% apple juice from Akita Prefecture.
The selection of snacks is also not to be missed. VERY RUBY CUT, which specialises in strawberry confectioneries will also be participating in this year’s event. The event’s delightful exploration of Japan’s diverse and delicious offerings is perfect for food lovers eager to taste the best of the nation.
Alcohol aficionados will also have the chance to indulge in Japanese sake and other tipples, showcasing the rich and diverse brewing traditions of Japan. Among the offerings are Azumino City’s Suien Momo no Osake and Suien Ringo no Osake, refreshing and fruity liqueurs made from the juice of peaches and apples grown in the Nagano Prefecture, respectively.
First-Class Family Fun
The journey does not stop there – there will be a host of family-friendly activities and entertainment for all ages! Children and adults alike can immerse themselves in Japanese culture through an exciting mix of lifestyle booths and cultural activities.
The stage will be set for a live instrumental performance by the Wind Ensemble Nippon Singapore (WENS). These talented musicians will deliver a must-see energetic performance.

Visitors can also immerse themselves in other cultural stations such as the Tea Appreciation Event where they can learn more about the history and art behind Japanese tea making. Meanwhile, aspiring little flight crew members can embark on a Photo-Taking Session with JAL cabin attendants where they will get the chance to don the uniform and snap pictures with the Singapore-based JAL crew.

Additionally, with iconic brands like Pokémon Center Singapore and Takara Tomy on board, children and enthusiasts can explore a range of unique and original goods including trading card games and plush toys. Other collectibles will also be available, including the charming miniatures and soft toys from Kenelephant. For those looking for more educational play, Kumon will be offering their famous Kuru Kuru Chime and logical route puzzles, along with stationery such as their Triangle Pencil Series.
Dine-in Delights
For those feeling peckish during the visit, be sure to try JAPAN RAIL CAFE’s Shinshu Salmon Don. Available exclusively from 1 to 31 October 2024 as part of its ‘Special Monthly Menu’, this delectable dish features the freshest Shinshu salmon (信州サーモン) sourced from Azumino, complemented by creamy avocado and Azumino’s star ingredient – fresh wasabi leaves pickled in soy sauce from Wasabi no Marui.
Sake from Azumino will also be available for pairing with various dishes in the cafe. The Suien Junmai Daiginjo “Miyama Nishiki” – brewed using Miyama Nishiki sake rice grown in Azumino – provides a crisp flavour that highlights the essence of the rice, making it an ideal pairing with the Shinshu Salmon Don.
Diners can look forward to the following promotions at the cafe:
- Shinshu Salmon Don with a miso soup and drink of choice for $20 (U.P. $50)
- Shinshu Salmon Don with a glass of Suien Junmai Daiginjo “Miyama Nishiki” for $28 (U.P. $58)
- The refreshing Suien Maboroshi no Sake Blue and the flavourful Zangi for $22 (U.P. $25)
- Suien Umeshu (Plum Wine) at $13 per glass

A stamp rally will also take place throughout the fair’s three days. Attendees can enter a lucky draw by collecting stamps at the event booths to win prizes.
