Affectionately known as SAM, the Singapore Art Museum opened in 1996 as our first art museum. Today, it’s the place to explore cutting-edge contemporary art practices from Singapore and the region.
Housing one of the most important collections of contemporary art from the region, SAM advocates and makes accessible interdisciplinary contemporary art through research-led and evolving curatorial practice. SAM seeks to seed and nourish a stimulating and creative space in Singapore through its exhibitions, publications, public and educational programmes, as well as cross-disciplinary residencies and exchanges.
Note: SAM’s buildings are currently under-going a major transformation till 2024 or later.
The heritage buildings at Bras Basah Road and Queen Street remain closed for redevelopment and will reopen in 2026.
Visit us at 39 Keppel Rd, #01-02 Tanjong Pagar Distripark, Singapore 089065. Meanwhile, beyond Tanjong Pagar Distripark, SAM also presents various art experiences across the city.
