With the long-awaited year-end holidays upon us, join us for SYSNMH’s Wan Qing Year-End Holiday Programme 2022 for fun and educational activities to do as a family!
The Wan Qing Year-End Holiday Programme features a host of exciting, family-friendly activities, including hands-on workshops to impart cultural skills such as tangyuan making and Dongzhi-inspired calendar wheel making, interactive storytelling sessions and an insightful exhibition on Chinese pioneers.
Happening in conjunction with Grandparents Day, another highlight is a workshop in collaboration with Genealogy Society Singapore, where families can learn to trace their roots together!

Kids visiting SYSNMH can get a free DIY craft kit to bring home this school holiday. Make your own calendar wheel and discover what makes the Winter Solstice an important festival celebrated by the Chinese community. Craft kits are given out on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last and one per child.

The Chinese Business Pioneers – Supporting Singapore’s Education is making its final stop at SYSNMH. This is your last chance to view the exhibition before it is gone.
The Chinese business community has always played a key role in giving back to society and Singapore. Co-curated with students from Hwa Chong Institution, this exhibition traces the lives of Chinese business pioneers Tan Kah Kee, Lee Kong Chian and Tan Lark Sye, who contributed generously to the field of education.

Ever wonder who are your grandparents’ parents? Discover your roots as a family with members of the Genealogy Society Singapore showing you how you can trace your family roots in this family-friendly workshop. Participants will understand more about Chinese family member’s honorific terms and have a chance to start tracing their family tree with the materials provided. In conjunction with Grandparents’ Day, the workshop is also a wonderful opportunity for children to bond with their grandparents through the activity.

Join us for a 90 mins fun-filled and tactile in-person experience – where children will learn more about self-discovery and acceptance through interactive storytelling, as well as a hands-on arts and craft session. The session is conducted in Mandarin, making this a great way to engage your child in Chinese language and culture.

Recommended for participants 6 years old and above. The workshop will be conducted in Mandarin.
Make adorable cartoon tangyuan (glutinous rice balls) with us in this parent-child workshop! In this popular workshop, participants will learn various skills such as making glutinous rice ball skin, wrapping and shaping of tangyuan, cooking methods and many more. Participants will make four different character designs of tangyuan to bring home to cook under the guidance of facilitator, Ms Shirley Tan.
