Calling young explorers and their families! Paya Lebar Quarter (PLQ) and Mandai X – the growth and impact venture-building arm of Mandai Wildlife Group – are partnering on a two-year initiative to bring Ranger Buddies @ PLQ Parkside: Missions Around the World to Paya Lebar Quarter. From this April, children and their families can embark on educational missions at PLQ Parkside that are designed to foster environmental conservation awareness and encourage eco-conscious choices in their everyday lives. With this collaboration, playtime is not just fun, it’s meaningful by sparking the curiosity of young minds and supporting positive change.
The first of eight missions, Trouble on Everest, launches on 22 April 2025 in celebration of Earth Day, and runs until 5 June 2025. The experience will transform the scenic PLQ Parkside with an immersive set up that blends real-life and augmented reality activities, transporting children to the Himalayas to investigate why a village at the foot of Mount Everest is flooding, rescue red pandas, and help clean up the village. This initiative builds on the success of the 2021 Ranger Buddies mission at PLQ and looks to bring conservation education beyond the destination of Mandai Wildlife Reserve to urban spaces where families shop, dine and play.

The globe-trotting adventures continue till 31 December 2026, as Ranger Buddies: Missions Around the World takes children and families on a variety of missions that include addressing the illegal wildlife trade in South Africa, fighting habitat loss in the Great Barrier Reef, and protecting the Amazonian rainforest from deforestation.

Ranger Buddies missions aim to foster a keen curiosity about the world while teaching children how to be adaptable and overcome challenges. At the core of the programme is the C.O.U.R.A.G.E. framework, which focuses on developing seven essential life skills in children, shaping a future-ready generation through exciting and purposeful experiences that extend beyond the Mandai Wildlife Reserve.

Upon completing each mission, participants will earn an exclusive badge from Jimmy Monkey Café (PLQ Parkside #01-10) located just a few steps from the mission area. They can also enjoy exclusive dining offers specially curated for Ranger Buddies by PLQ Parkside F&B tenants Jimmy Monkey Café, KAKE by Carbon&, Salvo by Pasta Fresca, Tanglin Cookhouse, Tomoro Coffee and Zing. After collecting four badges, adventurers will receive a complimentary Ranger Buddies vest to suit up for their next mission. Ranger Buddies who are also Lendlease Plus members will enjoy extra perks, including earning Plus$ and Lendlease E-Vouchers upon mission completion and meeting a minimum spend in the mall.
