GARDENS BY THE BAY LIGHTS UP YEAR-END FESTIVITIES WITH THE RETURN OF CHRISTMAS TRAIN SHOW, CHRISTMAS WONDERLAND AND DEBUT OF MY LITTLE PONY
Flower Dome’s Christmas Train Show has its first miniature Singapore landscape with moving SMRT train, magical ponies take over Floral Fantasy, and Christmas Wonderland is back in the outdoors

It will be an exciting year-end celebration at Gardens by the Bay, as the second edition of the Christmas Train Show chugs back into Flower Dome and My Little Pony trots into Floral Fantasy for the first time. Meanwhile, fan favourite Christmas Wonderland will be back at Supertree Grove and even extend to the Meadow, while Jurassic World: The Experience continues in Cloud Forest. In other words, there will be plenty to do in all corners of Gardens by the Bay to close the year.
Gardens by the Bay CEO Mr Felix Loh said, “This year, we’re thrilled to present a vibrant mix of Christmas experiences at Gardens by the Bay. From exciting new events such as My Little Pony at Floral Fantasy, to the return of crowd-favourite Christmas Train Show at the Flower Dome which made its debut last Christmas, and the 12th edition of Christmas Wonderland at our outdoor gardens, coming back even bigger and better. As the People’s Garden, our aim is to offer something for everyone, whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning to relive the festive magic. Our strong pipeline of Christmas events each year allows us to continually surprise and delight our visitors, while bringing everyone together to share the joy and warmth of this festive season.”
Christmas Train Show
The second edition of Gardens by the Bay’s Christmas Train Show returns on November 23, this time fusing the magic of a cherished American yuletide tradition with uniquely Singapore elements.
Christmas Train Show 2024
This year’s floral display unfolds on a much larger scale, with close to 20 model trains being rotated to travel along 145 metres of complex tracks laid in the centre of Flower Dome. The journey will see the trains chug along bridges, through tunnels, and even on overhead trails in the spirit of America’s holiday train shows, going past beloved American icons such as the Statue of Liberty, Grand Central Terminal, and the Golden Gate Bridge. Gardens by the Bay worked with the US Embassy in Singapore, New York Botanical Garden and United States Botanic Garden make these scenes possible.
In celebration of SG60, a specially commissioned G-scale SMRT train built in consultation with SMRT will weave past miniatures of the Dragon Playground, Supertrees, and heritage shophouses, all handcrafted from recycled Singapore wood by local carpentry studio Roger & Sons. This G-scale SMRT train is the only one of its kind here!
The train will even travel to Europe this year, specifically Denmark. In collaboration with the Royal Danish Embassy, the scene brings Danish Christmas to life with a towering 5-metre LEGO Christmas tree, a wintry Nyhavn harbour in miniature, and a classic black and red locomotive reminiscent of old-world train journeys.
Christmas Train Show 2024
Close to 7,000 plants, including more than 70 plant varieties such as holly, mistletoe, cyclamens, 18 varieties of poinsettias, and 50 varieties of Christmas trees – some rising to 4 metres tall – complement the landscapes and fill Flower Dome with the unmistakable atmosphere of Christmas. Completing the look are four towering luminaries at 7.5 metres tall, which when lit up at night, cast a warm glow over the trains and landscapes.
The Christmas Train Show also presented in collaboration with the Embassy of Finland, Embassy of Sweden, Norwegian Embassy, Carl Hansen & Son, Royal Copenhagen and the Hans Christian Andersen Museum, with additional support from Bloomberg, LEGO, Turkish Airlines, StellarAce and local train enthusiast group Singapore Railways.
