Performed in Japanese with English surtitles, audiences can experience the production in its original language while following the story in English.

Chantal Prudhomme, Chief Executive Officer of Base Entertainment Asia, presenter of ATTACK on TITAN: The Musical in Singapore, said, “ATTACK on TITAN: The Musical represents an extraordinary leap from manga to the musical stage, reimagining one of the world’s most recognised manga titles through the uniquely Japanese form of 2.5-dimensional theatre, where manga and anime meet live performance. It is a thrilling combination of high-impact action, cutting-edge technology, original music, live vocals and choreography that brings a whole new dimension to ATTACK on TITAN.

Having made its mark in Japan before taking the stage internationally at New York City Center, we are proud to present the original Japanese production in Singapore as its first engagement in Asia outside Japan. For fans, it offers another way to experience a world they have come to know so well; for audiences fascinated by Japanese culture and entertainment, a window into a theatrical tradition they may not have encountered before; and for musical theatre fans, an opportunity to discover a different kind of musical storytelling within this 2.5-dimensional genre.”

THE BEGINNING OF AN EPIC STORY

Created by Japanese manga artist Hajime Isayama, ATTACK on TITAN follows humanity’s struggle for survival against mysterious, man-eating Titans. At the heart of the story are Eren Yeager, a determined young man driven by his desire for freedom; Mikasa Ackermann, a fiercely loyal and exceptionally skilled fighter; and Armin Arlert, their intelligent childhood friend with a keen mind for strategy.

When the Titans breach the Walls protecting their home, the 3 are drawn into humanity’s fight for survival, joining the military alongside fellow recruits. Their journey brings them into the orbit of key figures including Levi, humanity’s strongest soldier; Erwin Smith, the military commander leading the fight against the Titans; and Hans Zoe, an inquisitive commander determined to understand the mysterious creatures threatening humanity.

ATTACK on TITAN: The Musical focuses on this early chapter of the epic story, broadly covering the journey from its beginning through the Battle of Trost, with elements condensed and rearranged for the stage.

A MUSICAL IN ITS OWN RIGHT

While rooted in Isayama’s manga, ATTACK on TITAN: The Musical is a musical theatre production in its own right, featuring original songs written specifically for the stage.

Directed by Go Ueki, with a book by Masafumi Hata, music supervision by KEN THE 390 and lyrics by Kaori Miura, the production brings together a creative team from across music, theatre, choreography and visual design to translate the world of ATTACK on TITAN into a live musical experience.

The musical features newly created songs that give voice to the characters’ emotions, relationships and conflicts through live vocals, choreography and dramatic storytelling. It also incorporates “Guren no Yumiya”, the iconic opening theme from the first season of the ATTACK on TITAN anime.

Rather than simply transferring the manga to the stage, the musical uses music as an integral part of the storytelling, allowing audiences to experience the characters and their journey through the language of live musical theatre.

2.5-DIMENSIONAL MUSICAL®

2.5-dimensional musical is a distinctive Japanese form of live entertainment that brings characters and worlds from manga into the physical world of the stage. The “2.5” represents the space between the 2D world of the source material and the 3D world of live performance.

In ATTACK on TITAN: The Musical, this translates into a fusion of musical theatre, live action and cutting-edge technology, with performers, choreography, costumes, stage effects and visual design recreating the world of the Titans for a live audience.

The result is a theatrical experience that combines traditional performance techniques with contemporary stage technology to capture both the visual identity and emotional intensity of ATTACK on TITAN.

EXPERIENCE THE ORIGINAL JAPANESE PRODUCTION

ATTACK on TITAN: The Musical premiered in Osaka and Tokyo in January 2023, bringing Isayama’s manga to the stage as an original Japanese musical production.

The production subsequently made its first international engagement outside Japan at New York City Center in October 2024, before returning to Japan for performances in Tokyo in December 2024 and Osaka in January 2025.

At its New York engagement, audiences travelled from 48 US states and more than 20 countries around the world, including Canada, France and Singapore, to experience the production.

Now, audiences in Singapore and across the region will have the opportunity to experience the original Japanese production without travelling to Japan, with Singapore serving as its first Southeast Asian engagement.

Whether longtime fans or newcomers to ATTACK on TITAN, audiences can connect with its universal themes of friendship, courage, freedom, sacrifice, loss and resilience, alongside the determination to protect the people we love and fight for the freedom to shape our own future. For fans, the production offers a new way to experience a beloved world, while inviting musical theatre enthusiasts and those curious about Japanese culture to discover a distinctive Japanese theatrical tradition.

Note: ATTACK on TITAN: The Musical is based on the manga ATTACK on TITAN by Hajime Isayama, published by Kodansha. Directed by Go Ueki, with a book by Masafumi Hata, music supervision by KEN THE 390, and lyrics by Kaori Miura. ©I・K/AMP
