Spoiler alert! Plot twists, unexpected combinations and unlikely connections are ahead as the Singapore Writers Festival returns for its 26th edition. Happening from 17 to 26 November, Singapore’s premier multilingual literary arts festival embraces the unpredictable and presents mould-breaking and genre-bending programmes, expanding the possibilities of the written and spoken word with this year’s Festival theme, ‘Plot Twist’.

Singapore Writers Festival 2023

Presenting an eclectic line-up of close to 200 in-person programmes featuring as many as 250 international and local presenters, the Festival invites everyone from children, youths to adults, to join in the panel discussions, workshops, meet-the-author sessions, performances and exhibitions – all with an exciting twist.

Look out for international headliners such as literary powerhouses Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak, Lemn Sissay, John Patrick Green, and Viet Thanh Nguyen who are spotlighted in this year’s Asian-American Focus. Expect curveballs and unconventional offerings such as the Hip Hop 50th Anniversary Programme Series and conversations on combat sports and punk rock; embark on walking tours, and tantalise both your literal and literary taste buds with food-themed programmes.
