The dedicated youth concept will officially launch in Asia at AIA HYROX Singapore 2026

AIA HYROX Youngstars Singapore

HYROX, the world’s largest fitness race, has announced the official Asia launch of HYROX Youngstars, its age-adapted race format for young athletes. Open to participants aged 8-15, HYROX Youngstars will welcome a new generation into the sport while giving families more opportunities to experience HYROX together.

Following earlier trial events globally, HYROX Youngstars was introduced as a permanent race format at HYROX Amsterdam in January 2026, attracting more than 1,500 young athletes.

Following this, there have been races in London, Berlin, Maastricht, Salt Lake City and Oslo. The series will now officially launch in Asia starting with AIA HYROX Youngstars Singapore on 28-29 November 2026. The event is expected to welcome approximately 2000 young participants.

Jessica Petty, Head of HYROX Youngstars, states: “Launching the first HYROX Youngstars race in Asia, here in Singapore, is an incredibly special moment. Singapore hosted one of our first Youngstars activations in 2024, with the region playing a key role in shaping the race concept and format we now know today. To see it all come full circle with our first race in Asia is something we are incredibly proud of. Youngstars is about giving young people the opportunity to get active, challenge themselves, and build confidence through fitness racing, and we’re so excited we get to bring that experience to children and families across Asia.”

The regional launch of HYROX Youngstars follows four years of significant growth for HYROX across APAC. After making its regional debut in Hong Kong in 2022 with fewer than 1,000 racers, HYROX is expected to welcome nearly 300,000 race entries across APAC in 2026.

Gary Wan, Managing Director of HYROX APAC, says: “HYROX Youngstars reaffirms our commitment to continually evolving the HYROX experience across APAC and giving the next generation a meaningful place within our community. This expansion marks a key milestone in scaling the sport across the region, making our events more holistic, engaging, and welcoming for every age group.”

As title partner, AIA will play an important role in bringing HYROX Youngstars to the region. This partnership reflects AIA and HYROX’s shared commitment to encouraging active lifestyles, supporting long-term physical and mental wellbeing, and making fitness more accessible to families and communities across Asia.

Wong Sze Keed, Chief Executive Officer of AIA Singapore, says: “At AIA, our purpose is to enable people to live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives, and that journey starts from a young age. We are thrilled to partner with HYROX to bring HYROX Youngstars to Singapore, introducing a new generation to fitness racing and showing that sport can be accessible and inclusive, regardless of age or fitness level. By encouraging children and youths to embrace an active lifestyle early on, we hope to nurture the physical resilience, confidence, discipline and mental strength that can help them thrive both on and off the race course.”

About the HYROX Youngstars Workout Stations

To support children’s development, HYROX Youngstars follows an age-specific format, with movements, repetitions, distances and weights tailored to each age group. This ensures every young athlete can take on an appropriate challenge, build confidence and experience the sense of achievement that comes from crossing a HYROX finish line.

The HYROX Youngstars stations include:

  1. SkiErg: Participants use the ski ergometer until they complete the distance assigned to their age group.
  2. Sled Push: Participants push a weighted sled across the prescribed distance, with the load and distance varying by age group.
  3. Sled Pull or Sled Drag: Participants pull or drag a weighted sled across the prescribed distance, depending on their age group.
  4. Burpee Broad Jumps or Frogger Jumps: Participants aged 10-15 complete chest-to-floor burpees followed by broad jumps, while those aged 8-9 perform frogger jumps.
  5. Rowing: Participants complete the distance assigned to their age group on a rowing machine.
  6. Kettlebell Farmers Carry: Participants carry a kettlebell in each hand across the prescribed distance.
