Children’s Season is back with both online and self-guided activities at the museum! For this Season, we reflect on hope, kindness, and resilience, values which help us stay connected with our loved ones and keep our spirits bright. Come join us to discover objects on our special Children’s Season trail and create new memories with your family and friends. School is out! Let’s discover and create together with family and friends at ACM. We dedicate this Children’s Season to reflecting on the values that have helped us through the pandemic and ways we stay connected with our loved ones. To make our programmes more accessible, we now offer both online and self-guided activities at the museum.
Highlights of the Free Events:
[FREE] Self-Guided Trail and Craft Kit*
21 November – 13 December 2020
Pick up a trail booklet and craft kit from our friendly visitor services staff at the Front Desk. Go on a journey with your family to discover the diversity and splendour of ACM’s collection through fun learning.
Along the way, be sure to keep an eye out for a few special pieces that embody the spirit of togetherness!
Participants will have the chance to assemble their very own mini scribe table – based on the exquisite Turkish one we have in our collection!
A printable trail booklet is also available on ACM website.
*Craft kit will be given to each child, ages 3 – 12, with an admission sticker. While stocks last.
[FREE]^ Guided Tours
Every Friday, from 27 November – 11 December 2020 | 11am, 3pm
Prefer to join a guided tour? Sign up for a tour led by our volunteer docents!
The tour will be customised according to the themes of Children’s Season and will feature objects from our trail booklet. A tour is a great way to learn more about the unique pieces featured on the trail, as well as other objects in the galleries.
Each tour will take one hour. Limited slots available.
^A refundable deposit of $10 per pax is collected upon registration on Peatix. This deposit will be refunded 24 hours after the event. In the event of no-show, the deposit will be forfeited.
“MURPHY, SEE HOW YOU SHINE!” by Chen Wei Teng and Sherry Soon

Join author-storyteller Chen Wei Teng and Be Kind SG founder Sherry Soon as they bring you a fun morning of music and songs sharing a story celebrating the diversities in all of us. This story touches on the themes of inclusion, kindness, and friendship.
You will get the chance to make an origami dog with the storyteller too! Prepare a square piece of paper and a marker or pen for the origami activity. Even better if your piece of paper is brown!

Be reminded that being different is not a bad thing in this musical story about the world of a little girl with autism. Come sing along with Suzannah Chua on the ukulele!
Learn how to fold a sweet origami heart to send a message of friendship to someone you love. Prepare some square pieces of paper before the session.

“THE MAGIC TREE” by The Storytelling Centre Limited

Let’s go on a journey of discovery with our animal friends! Who will be brave? Who will be fast? Join our Young Storyteller from The Storytelling Centre Limited to listen to the secrets of a magic tree. The story was inspired by the community of animals depicted on an betel box at ACM.
Get some coloured paper, scissors, glue, and markers ready! Make your very own memento of the story with a simple paper craft activity and continue the story at home.
