The Whampoa Dragon Fountain is found in between some HDB blocks in Whampoa drive. This fascinating 3 storey tall dragon sculpture was built in the 1970s and 1980s with water used to spout out of its mouth. However, due to the poor preservation of the fountain, it has stopped operating.
The dragon, embellished with bits of porcelain, can be found in front of Block 85 of Whampoa Drive. The Dragon Fountain has been something of a landmark in the area.
However, even if the fountain is not operational anymore, it would be a sight to behold to see the water being spouted out from the dragon’s mouth again. Unfortunately, the chances of the dragon getting reworked are highly improbable in the near future.
