Granite played an important role in the construction industry in Singapore during the 1970s and early 1980s as a huge part of roads and public housing were constructed with granite.

The granite used was mined from quarries located around the island and one of the quarries which would still be explorable would be the lesser known Seng Chew Quarry.

An abandoned granite quarry located near Bukit Gombak MRT. Compared to other quarries located here on our little island, Seng Chew Quarry does not have a designated path to follow to get in. This would give the people a “sense of adventure” when they search for the quarry.
