Celebrate the Season with EQUAL’s Therapy Horses at Christmas at the Stables

EQUAL, Singapore’s leading animal-assisted therapy charity, is thrilled to announce the return of its beloved festive event, Christmas at the Stables, happening on 6 & 7 December 2025. The event invites the community to meet EQUAL’s herd of therapy horses – from retired racehorses to charming miniature horses – and enjoy a day filled with fun, festive activities, and heartfelt experiences, all in support of a meaningful cause.

As an Institution of Public Character (IPC) and Singapore’s only Eagala-certified provider of equine-assisted learning and therapy, EQUAL partners rescued horses to help improve the emotional and social well-being of children, youth, seniors, and families across the island.

Proceeds from the event will directly support EQUAL’s therapeutic programmes and the ongoing care of their horse partners.

What to Expect This Year:

Stable Tours & Meet & Greets: Get up close with the horses and learn about their stories.
Exclusive Behind-the-Stables Experiences: Guests can choose to walk a horse, brush their mane, pick their hooves, prepare their feed, and even feed them, offering a truly immersive encounter.
Festive Ambiance: The stables will be beautifully adorned with repurposed lights from Orchard Road’s iconic Christmas light-up, providing a perfect festive backdrop.
Entertainment and Activities: Enjoy live music performances, face-painting, engaging workshops, and fun games suitable for all ages.
Gourmet Food & Beverage Pop-Ups: Taste treats from local favourites including Common Man Coffee Roasters, Birds of Paradise Gelato Boutique, Quan Shui Wet Market, Marymount Bakehouse, and more – who have generously pledged to donate their proceeds back to EQUAL.

“Christmas at the Stables is more than a celebration; it’s a chance for everyone to support a unique charity that changes lives by nurturing the deep bond between humans and animals,” said Elaine Chen, Chief Executive Officer, EQUAL. “Every ticket purchased makes a real difference – for our horses and the people they help.”

In 2025, EQUAL has been actively bringing the healing power of horses to the community through a range of engaging programmes and events. The year kicked off with the “Temasek Foundation-EQUAL Haydays with Horses Programme” to extend equine-assisted therapy to seniors at active ageing centres and nursing homes, igniting new opportunities for joy and connection in later life. Our inaugural Open Stables Day welcomed supporters into our stables to discover how therapy horses transform lives. The successful Horse-lidays school holiday programme engaged children with hands-on activities to build empathy and confidence.

Our participation at the IHH x Singapore Sea Regatta brought therapy horses to the Marina Bay Promontory alongside mental health panels and dragonboat races, promoting mental wellness. Most recently, a heartfelt presence at the Istana Open House saw six miniature therapy horses helping visitors of all ages experience calm and connection. These initiatives reflect EQUAL’s ongoing commitment to improving mental and emotional well-being through the unique bond between humans and horses.
