- Presented in partnership with the DesignSingapore Council, REINVENTION: ALLPLAY takes over the Singapore Science Park design district from 11 August to 22 November 2026
- Programme features a mix of free and ticketed activities that invite visitors to rediscover wellness, creativity and connection through play

Singapore Science Park, developed and managed by CapitaLand, today announced the return of REINVENTION, its annual activation supported by the DesignSingapore Council. Now in its second edition, REINVENTION: ALLPLAY transforms the precinct into an immersive playground where design and play come together to inspire wellness, creativity and connection.

Building on its 2025 debut during Singapore Design Week as a design district, this year’s edition looks at play as a form of research, exploration, and experimentation. Curated by CapitaLand Development in partnership with OuterEdit, REINVENTION: ALLPLAY features a series of installations, experiences and activities that demonstrate how thoughtfully designed spaces can encourage movement, spark creativity and strengthen social connection. At its core, the activation reframes play through the lens of design, reimagining familiar routines and activities to explore how small design interventions can lead to fresh ideas that are more accessible, inclusive, and impactful.
Taking place from 11 August to 22 November 2026, REINVENTION: ALLPLAY will progressively introduce new programmes and experiences to encourage visitors to rediscover Singapore Science Park over time.
Chew Peet Mun, Managing Director, Investment & Development, CapitaLand Development (Singapore) said: “We are excited to welcome REINVENTION back as part of Singapore Science Park’s ongoing evolution into a live-work-play innovation district. This year, REINVENTION: ALLPLAY aims to curate new experiences in everyday spaces throughout Singapore Science Park over a three-month period. We hope that this will create more opportunities for learning, discovery, and camaraderie for the Science Park and wider community.”
Ryan Tan, Founder and Executive Creative Director of OuterEdit said: “Play is one of the most universal languages we share. Regardless of age, culture or background, it invites curiosity, imagination and connection. With REINVENTION: ALLPLAY, we wanted to celebrate play not simply as games, sports or leisure, but as a mindset. At its heart, ALLPLAY is an invitation to discover creative ways of approaching the challenges and opportunities of everyday life. We hope to demonstrate how play can become a powerful catalyst for design and innovation, empowering visitors to shape and reinvent the world around them.”
Where design meets community

Building on the momentum of Geneo’s official opening in May 2026, REINVENTION: ALLPLAY complements the cluster’s purpose-built infrastructure with meaningful people-first experiences for the tenants and wider community. The festival brings together over 30 designers, artists and partners to collectively reimagine the concept of play through design. The three-month-long programme serves as a platform for unexpected collaborations that activate public spaces and showcases how innovation can shape everyday experiences.
REINVENTION: ALLPLAY unveils three new signature experiences
Anchoring the festival are three opening experiences: PlayLab, PlayMission and PlayCourt.
PlayLab presents self-guided exhibits represented by five themes of ‘Think’, ‘Make’, ‘Move’, ‘Experience’ and ‘Connect’, that are designed to spark discovery, creativity, movement and experimentation. Key events happening at PlayLab include Minds at Play (15-16 August), Hands at Play (22-23 August) and Design Market (22-23 August). PlayLab will be at The Canopy at Geneo from 11 to 23 August before moving to other locations within Geneo through 22 November.
PlayMission explores how play can inspire learning and positive action. Launching with Ranger Buddies: The Planet Cup by Mandai X, the programme invites families and young visitors to discover how everyday actions can collectively create a positive environmental impact through a series of interactive physical and digital (Augmented Reality) mission challenges. PlayMission – Ranger Buddies: The Planet Cup runs from 29 August to 13 September at The Canopy.
PlayCourt repurposes the outdoor area at 7 Science Park Drive into an ever-changing playscape. Gradually transforming over the course of the three months, the PlayCourt will open with familiar sports courts before introducing design and spatial interventions, inviting visitors to rethink forms of play. Alongside adapted versions of sports such as basketball, football and pickleball, visitors can contribute to Singapore Science Park’s first co-created community mural, collectively creating a lasting artwork over the course of the festival.
Interactive fun for all ages
At The Canopy, visitors can enjoy a series of interactive play areas and workshops, including exhibitions by local creative collective J.A.B.O.C. (Just A Band Of Creatives). Other PlayLab activations include immersive indoor playground installations by CT-Art and Parklab, and a Design Market curated by OfWonderWander.
Complementing these experiences are hands-on workshops for all ages, such as Puzzle Tour & Hands-On Discovery by Project Enigma, featuring over 100 unique mechanical puzzles with a spotlight on Singapore puzzle designers; Hypersketch by STUCK Design, where participants explore AI-assisted creative sketching; and a build and customisation workshop by local collective Observation House, among many more.
Beyond these opening experiences, REINVENTION: ALLPLAY will continue to roll out programmes and creative collaborations across its three-month season to provide new ways to play and encourage different communities to activate the Play Court in creative ways. Visitors are encouraged to return throughout the festival to experience what’s new. Admission is free and open to the public.
