MusicFest@SGH 2026 Returns for a Day of Live Music

MusicFest@SGH returns on Friday, 2 October 2026, bringing a full day of live music to Singapore General Hospital before culminating in a special evening concert, The Songs That Make Us Smile.

Held on the International Day of the Smile, this year’s festival celebrates the songs that have brought happiness to generations of people across Singapore and beyond. From uplifting performances in hospital wards and public spaces throughout the day to an inspiring evening concert, MusicFest@SGH continues its mission of bringing moments of joy, comfort and connection through the power of live music.

Beginning at 10am, more than 200 performers will present over 40 hours of live performances across 9 locations around the SGH campus. Patients, caregivers, healthcare workers, visitors and members of the public can enjoy a diverse programme featuring choirs, instrumental ensembles, musical theatre performers, solo vocalists and community groups, creating music-filled moments throughout the hospital. As the festival draws to a close, patients, caregivers, healthcare workers, volunteers and visitors will come together for the evening finale concert, The Songs That Make Us Smile.

Highlights of MusicFest@SGH include Cat Ong, Hillary Francis, Rae Lou, Flutey Affair, Lasalle College of the Arts Musical Theatre students, The Song Birds, Zheng Professionals Guzheng Ensemble and many more talented performers, offering everything from uplifting melodies to soul-stirring tunes—engaging patients, caregivers, staff, and visitors alike.

Back by popular demand, the much-loved Open Mic sessions return to MusicFest@SGH this year. The Open Mic sessions invite patients, healthcare workers, visitors and members of the public to take the microphone and share a song, creating spontaneous moments of joy and connection throughout the day. A favourite feature of the festival, the Open Mic celebrates the belief that everyone has a voice worth sharing.

As evening falls, audiences can look forward to the finale concert, hosted by Hossan Leong featuring performances by Vanessa Kee, Angelo Martinez, Atiqah Roslee and musically directed by Elaine Chan. Inspired by the International Day of the Smile, the concert celebrates the melodies that have become part of our lives. Songs that have filled our homes, marked important milestones, and brought comfort during both joyful and challenging times. Featuring timeless English classics alongside beloved Mandarin, Malay and Filipino favourites, the concert reflects Singapore’s multicultural community and the universal language of music.

🎭 The Songs That Make Us Smile

Hossan Leong, one of Singapore’s most recognisable entertainers, will host this year’s finale concert. A celebrated actor, comedian, singer and host whose career spans theatre, television, film and radio, Hossan will bring his signature humour, warmth and energy to an evening dedicated to the songs that make us smile.

Homegrown musical theatre performer Vanessa Kee returns to MusicFest@SGH, bringing with her an impressive body of stage work across some of Singapore’s leading theatre companies. Known for her versatility as an actress and singer, Vanessa will once again lend her voice and vibrant stage presence to this special celebration.

Angelo Martinez, a Filipino-Singaporean singer and actor who has performed across Southeast Asia, joins the line-up following roles in productions including Dear Evan Hansen, Kimberly Akimbo and Spring Awakening. He brings a contemporary musical-theatre voice and youthful energy to the evening.

Emerging musical theatre performer Atiqah Roslee will also take the stage. A LASALLE-trained triple-threat artist with experience in musical theatre, show choir, traditional choir and acting, Atiqah brings versatility, energy and a strong love of performance to this year’s MusicFest@SGH.

Produced by Sing’theatre in collaboration with SGH MusicFest@SGH has become a much-anticipated annual event for patients, staff, and the wider community. By bringing professional performers, and guest artistes together, the festival transforms the SGH Campus into a space of healing through the universal language of music.
