1. Christmas Storytelling: Marky Polo in Singapore

Christmas Storytelling Marky Polo in Singapore

Listen to this tale of Marky Polo, a pangolin that comes from a family of avid explorers and travellers, as he and his friends go on an adventure to bring joy and cheer to his fun-loving young cousin Merry, who is visiting Singapore for the first time!

Based on the book Marky Polo in Singapore, this storytelling session will be facilitated by its author Emily Lim and a team of storytellers for an afternoon of tales and craft-making!

2. A Lighter Side of History: Let’s meet for coffee!

Gather around, coffee drinkers! Join us as we learn how to repurpose coffee grounds by transforming them into soap. A nifty gift idea for your friends and loved ones in time for the season of joy and cheer!

This programme will include handling the following ingredients:

  • Coconut oil
  • Palm oil
  • Safflower oil
  • Vegetable glycerin
  • Soybean
  • Aloe vera
  • Essential oils

About the facilitator

Jo has been passionate about sustainability and the conservation of the environment since 2011. Her passion has inspired her to share tips related to sustainable living, and she later founded The Sustainability Project to assist corporations to integrate sustainability into their strategy, inspire others and build the community. Jo continues to grow her passion towards the environment and strives to inspire those around her to take a step towards sustainable living.

This programme is suitable for all participants aged 13 and above. Price includes presentation by Jo and hands-on session where participants will be able to make soap made with used coffee to take home. All ingredients required for the hands-on session will be provided.

3. Roving Choir Performance by Resonance of Singapore

We’re bringing back the popular roving choir this Christmas! Be sure to catch Resonance of Singapore and sing along as they perform favourite holiday tunes at different locations in the museum.

About the performers

Incorporated in 2022, the Resonance of Singapore Ltd. (ROS) is the first non-profit organisation helmed by a professional vocal ensemble comprising of award-winning singers and an internationally acclaimed conductor.

They aim to inspire a stronger Singapore through music, to strengthen social resilience and uplift lives. Since performing to full houses in its inaugural concerts, ROS has launched the Young Artist Programme, conducted courses, and actively sought outreach through music with recent collaborations at the Science Centre and National Museum of Singapore.
