One is never too young to dream big! National Gallery Singapore presents Children’s Festival:

Small Big Dreamers to inspire visitors in imagining and re-imagining the world around them through experiential art and active play. Spotlighting a Singapore artist whose story exemplifies that anything is possible in each biyearly edition, Children’s Festival: Small Big Dreamers 2018 introduces visitors of all ages to Lee Wen, one of Singapore’s pioneer performance artists and a Cultural Medallion award recipient, through a special commission inspired by his life and practice – A Waking Dream: Sun-boy and Yellow Man.

Put on your creative cap as you start your journey in his dream-like world, where you can compose your own tunes, let your hair down, and put your agility and flexibility to a challenge as you manoeuvre around the obstacle course of ribbons or crawl under gazebos. A Waking Dream: Sun-boy and Yellow Man is presented through a series of five immersive installations throughout the Gallery. It will also be complemented with other works by international artists such as We Make Carpets (the Netherlands), teamLab (Japan) and Mark Justiniani (Philippines). Held in alternate years to each other, Children’s Festival: Small Big Dreamers will complement the Gallery Children’s Biennale, which was launched in 2017, as part of its outreach to connect young visitors with art.
