Review of Smart Alley

Located in a quaint shophouse near East Coast Road, Smart Alley is your one stop educational toy store to go to. Started in December 2010, the newly furbished store holds a wide range of educational toys and products, for toddlers to pre-teens.

The brain child of sibling duo Gabriel and Sarah, Smart Alley was established as both felt there was a lack of resource for good, quality educational toys. Both of them wanted to bring in toys and games which will help foster children’s imagination and creativity.

The products in the store are divided into 4 sections: Toys & Games, Stationary & Craft books, Read & Write, and Active Play. Most of the toy products are sourced from overseas and are neatly displayed for easy handling and viewing.

Products offered here are gender friendly – you can find toys suitable for both girls and boys. There are also media products available such as educational software programs and DVDs. What’s more, some of their products are not only interesting, but creative and quirky as well. Ever heard of a gourmet scented pencil made from recycled newspaper or ever thought of growing your own crystals?

Preschool teachers and principals will be delighted to find a trove of products which can make great teaching resources. Learning charts, educational vocabulary cards, hand pointers and counting manipulatives in the shape of cute bears and cookies, are just some products offered there. Need a new teaching resource? A present for your 4 year old niece or nephew? Or just looking for a fun, novel, and educational toy for your child? Well, Smart Alley is definitely the place to go. You may even purchase all their products online, at your own convenience!
