PROFILE OF DORAEMON AND FRIENDS
1. DORAEMON: A cat type robot created on Sept 3, 2112, Doraemon travels back in time with Nobita’s great, great grandchild, Sewashi, to save Nobita from himself. Although he always means well, the gadgets that Doraemon pulls from the magic pocket on his tummy only makes things worse. Originally sent as a protector, Doraemon eventually becomes a best friend to Nobita.
Fun fact – Doraemon has a paralyzing fear of mice, and dorayaki (bean-filled jam cake) is his favorite food.
2. NOBITA: From sports to academics, Nobita is an average Japanese schoolboy who lacks in many ways. He is so lazy that even taking a nap becomes a tiring activity for him! Bad luck follows him wherever he goes and even in adulthood. Lucky for him, his great-grandchild, Sewashi, sends Doraemon back in time to save his lifeline of unluckiness!
3. SHIZUKA: A tidy, sensible and intelligent girl, Shizuka is also Nobita’s cute and charming classmate. Shizuka is popular at school but always has time for her friend, Nobita, and for others. In the future, will Nobita the one she chooses as her husband?
4. GIAN: An undeniable bully, Gian (only his parents call him “Takeshi” but not too often) is still sensitive enough to value his friendships. He is tough around other kids but completely docile at home. Gian’s biggest dream is to become a singer; however, his voice sounds awful.
5. SUNEO: As smart as Shizuka but not as nice as she is. Suneo is a spoilt and snobbish boy who loves to brag about how well-off his family is. Like many braggarts, Suneo is insecure in reality, and often obsesses over his (relatively) short height. Great with his hands as well as with insults, his hobbies include art and constructing toy models.
6. DORAMI: More capable than her older brother, Doraemon’s little sister Dorami helps out when Doraemon’s in a pit and looks after Nobita when her big brother is not around.
