Kinderland Academy & Preschools’ renowned music-infused curriculum has proven to boost children’s early brain development, which is vital for learning maths and science while sharpening memory and improving verbal intelligence and literacy.

Why music? Music is widely recognised for its positive impact on early childhood development. Engaging in activities such as singing, dancing, and playing instruments helps young children build essential language skills, strengthen fine and gross motor coordination, improve memory, and nurture social-emotional growth.

At Kinderland, we integrate music into our curriculum to spark creativity, encourage self-expression, and make learning joyful and meaningful. Our music-infused approach creates a rich, multi-sensory environment that helps children become more receptive and enthusiastic learners.

Dr Carol Loy, senior director of curriculum and professional development at Kinderland, explains:

“Music activates three different parts of the brain simultaneously. These include the language centre, hearing centre and rhythmic motor control centre. This not only evokes emotions but creates heightened awareness and mental acuity.”

When children sing nursery rhymes, they weave together sounds and words, building neural connections that enhance early literacy skills and speech fluency.

Kinderland’s curriculum is built around the K.I.N.D.E.R. multidisciplinary lands. Infused with music, Kinderland’s lessons are guided through a thematic approach:

Kineticland – Strengthen motor skills and build sharper minds

Intelliland – Hone language and literacy skills and gain confidence in reading and writing

Natureland – Spur inquisitive minds to explore and seek answers in nature through Discovery of the World

Digiland – Understand numeracy and build logical thinking for real-life application while comprehending the fundamental skills of programming through coding

EQland – Develop character by refining social and emotional skills, growing a heart for the community

cReativeland – Encourage creative expression through various forms of music and arts, honing children’s sense of aesthetics, rhythm and coordination

Beyond classroom learning, Kinderland is the first and only preschool in Singapore with a marching band and stage ensemble. Marching band is available at Kinderland Academy @ Yio Chu Kang, Kinderland Preschool @ Marine Parade, and Kinderland Preschool @ Pandan Valley. Our experienced performers from the marching band and stage ensemble had put up countless performances for dignitaries on occasions like the Early Childhood Conference 2019 and Octoburst! 2019 & 2022 – A Children’s Festival by Esplanade.

Kinderland offers infant care and preschool programmes for children from 2 months to 6 years old.
