In today’s fast-paced world, where we face environmental challenges such as climate change, pollution, and deforestation, how do we teach our children to make a future living with the environment in mind?
What if there was an event that combined the thrill of entrepreneurship with an unforgettable lesson in sustainability? Check out Mitsubishi Electric Asia’s Car Boot For Good (Kids Edition), an exciting opportunity for your children to become young eco-entrepreneurs.
A Legacy of Giving Back
Last year, Mitsubishi Electric Asia hosted a highly successful event, Car Boot For Good, themed ‘Preloved to Reloved’. This innovative initiative brought together the community to sell pre-loved items out of their car boots to promote a thrifting culture, raise awareness about sustainability, and encourage philanthropy together with invited social enterprises. The event saw over 500 visitors supporting Mitsubishi Electric Asia’s shared objective of preserving the environment and planet for our future generations.
Empowering Young Minds with Business Acumen and Sustainable Practices
Building on this success, we are excited to hear that Mitsubishi Electric Asia is announcing the return of this event with a unique twist!
In its upcoming Car Boot For Good (Kids Edition) on 31 August 2024, Saturday, from 10am to 4pm, the spotlight will shine on young eco-entrepreneurs aged 7 to 14 who will be guided by their parents to sell pre-loved items and learn the ropes of running a small business.
Why should your family participate?
In affluent societies like Singapore, it is common for families to accumulate items that children quickly outgrow or lose interest in. These items often end up unused, contributing to wastage. The Car Boot For Good (Kids Edition) event aims to address this by teaching kids how to repurpose these items by turning them into treasures for others.
By participating, children will gain firsthand experience in entrepreneurship and learn essential skills such as pricing, negotiation, and customer service. This hands-on activity provides kids with an engaging and educational platform to develop their business acumen while bonding the whole family.
