When my children were younger, weekly trips to both grandparents’ places were a source of joy, and also stress. Taking my kids to three places meant that everything had to be multiplied in threes. We had to prepare three sets of clothes, bottles, sterilisers, baby items, diapers and other baby essentials.
Although we had a portable playpen that doubled up as a cot, it was a hassle to carry out as there were different parts to assemble and the mattress itself was not foldable. In fact, it usually took two of us more than 15 minutes to set up our old playpen as we often forgot how to assemble it after we dismantled it for washing.
I wish I had come across a portable cot like Bugaboo Stardust (pictured below) when my kids were younger as it would have saved me so much headache and backache in ensuring my babies have a safe space to rest and play.
Bugaboo is a Dutch parental company that kickstarted a stroller revolution in 1999. It then extended its ingenuity to premium portable cots by combining unique patented aerospace technology and smart design to offer parents the Bugaboo Stardust – an all-in-one, ultra comfortable, 1 second pop-up cot that can be used at home or on the go.
One-second to pop up, built-in mattress included
The Bugaboo Stardust only takes one second to unfold, and three seconds to fold. Imagine how convenient this is especially when your baby is cranky and wants to sleep as soon as possible, or if you need to pack up quickly and get to your destination on time. This instant folding makes the Bugaboo Stardust a convenient portable cot, which saves you time and hassle, so you can smoothly get to where you need to be.
Extremely comfortable for your baby, the multi-function portable cot also has a built-in multi-layered mattress with all-round mesh fabrics (made of durable, chemical-free and high-quality fabric) to allow airflow and ensures great breathability for baby’s skin during playtime and naptime. This means your baby gets a more restful sleep – and having longer afternoon naps means more me-time for parents to relax or settle other duties.
This highly portable cot can hold weights up to 15 kg (in play yard setting) and length up to 89 cm, suitable for newborns and kids up to two years old. Having the Bugaboo Stardust effectively translates into better quality time with your baby and family in the first two years, with the effortless setting up of the portable cot making your transitions to each new place a smooth, calm and peaceful experience.
For our newborns who require extra care, this portable cot even includes a zip-in baby bassinet which can hold up to 9 kg. The bassinet height makes it easy to lift your newborn in and out without bending over, which saves new mums and dads extra backaches, and we can tend to them at a closer eye level.
The portability of this cot allows our babies to follow us in our daily routines throughout the house and even outdoors if the space and weather permits. No more frantic running back to the nursery when baby cries, because he/she is already next to you watching your activities or just hanging out with the family.
Light, compact, and easy to clean
If you’re travelling to grandparents’, or going for a staycation, the Bugaboo Stardust is your one-stop portable cot for all occasions.
Weighing at only 6.9 kg, this portable cot only takes up 85 cm x 65 cm x 14 cm of space when folded. It comes with a handy Velcro closing premium carry bag with extra closure straps on each side to keep it flat packed and compact when travelling. Lightweight and convenient, the Bugaboo Stardust is fuss-free as you are able to move from one location to the next with ease.
If you want to clean the Bugaboo Stardust, its fabrics are machine-washable or made of wipe-clean materials. Bugaboo also has a 100% natural cotton fitted sheet for Stardust (available for purchase separately).
