LAUNCH OF THE TINKER HUB

It is with great pride and pleasure that The League Group launches The Tinker Hub – a play-based enrichment centre in Marina Country Club in Punggol.

As part of The League Group, The Science League has been offering Early Years and Kindergarten enrichment direct to preschools since 2013. Responding to the popularity of our programmes offered only during the school holidays, The Tinker Hub was born.

Now children from ages 3 to 12 will be able to benefit from The Science League’s award-winning science programmes at our permanent home by the pier in Punggol.

ENRICHMENT CURRICULUM AND PEDAGOGY

In recent years, there has been a lot of research done about the benefits of play-based learning in early childhood. Children’s play allows them to explore, identify, ask questions and create meaning. In learning through play, children are influenced and advanced in their development through exploration, thinking skills, problem-solving, and language expression.

With this research underpinning our curriculum, our early childhood trained teachers and curriculum writers work to ensure this innovation will benefit our students tremendously as it also reclaims the joy of learning in childhood-playtime.

We have four special classrooms for science, robotics and Lego, literary arts and drama, and an indoor gym to support our pupils in learning better as they tinker with science, robotics and even literary classics.

The Tinker Hub is poised to be a centre for tinkering, play, imagination and discovery.

Through the process of tinkering, every child who attends our programmes will learn how to work in a team, communicate and explore new ideas without fear of failure.

Little Lit programme for 5 – 6 year olds (classic literature and abridged Shakespeare)

THE TINKER HUB OPEN HOUSE

Come April 22, The Tinker Hub will welcome the public to its home by the marina in Punggol. Aptly named Kids’ Day Out, there is a whole host of free science, Lego and robotics workshops for children from 9.30 am to 4 pm.

Parents are encouraged to sign up for the slots on the website at thetinkerhub.sg.

There will be popcorn, cotton candy, and gift vouchers for june holiday camps given out throughout the day. Kids can also play carnival games at the various stations and win novelty gifts.
